Later this month [21st], l have a musical post publishing to the blog entitled ‘A Life Filled With Turmoil!‘ which looks at one of my many Top 10 Favourited Album Lists after a conversation l had with Jen regarding her post Smooth, Clean Taste with a Dash of Confusion of last year.
In recent months only have l rediscovered my love for music again and listened to it again. It is still not back to the way it used to be when Scrappy and l shared the same office space, but it’s slowly returning, and that is way better than not listening to music at all unless creating an entertainment post like this one.
I was walking around town the other day, a regular enough occurrence. Still, l was also listening to music on my CD player and thinking of all the pieces of music and songs and tracks and so on l have heard over the years, which would l consider the Top 7 that l could listen to over and over if l had to for one day?
Below are my choices … but more importantly, if you were asked to select ONLY 7 pieces of music/songs/tracks to listen to for one day back to back, what would your list comprise?
Carl Orff – O Fortuna ~ Carmina Burana
The first time l heard this piece was in 1981 when l watched the film Excalibur – starring Helen Mirren, Nigel Terry, Liam Neeson and a host of other wonderful actors. it blew me away, although lused to listen to classical as a teenager l had never come across this particular piece.
I could listen to this all day every day.
Righteous Brothers – Unchained Melody 1965
I used to listen to this when l was around 15 years of age when living at home. My parents used to always quiz why l would play this track over and over – l couldn’t explain it, it was as it was.
The next time l heard it was in 1994 when l was watching a Drama series called Soldier Soldier which ran for 7 seasons. It was sung for the episode Band of Gold by Robson Green and Jerome Flynn who also brought ot out as a single.
I also heard it during the film Ghost 1990 with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore when l watched the film in 1997 which apparently did wonders for the pottery industry!
I first heard the theme from Madam Butterfly in the background over dinner when l was 13 and visiting friends of my parents.
My father hated anything classical which may explain why he was always so angry with me – l used to play a lot of classical when home.
I love the full opera, but this particular song always makes me feel emotional.
So there we go. If l had to listen to 7 tracks for a full day back to back, the tracks above would make it easy. But that’s just me – how about you? 7 Tracks/scores/pieces only – what could you listen to for one whole day and not tire or bore from it?
