Welcome to Mixitup and Playme Now!
Season 3 – 2021 – 1stQ – Game 10

Do you remember the days of creating your own playlists on cassette tapes?? Wasn’t that awkward? I used to have to listen to the Top 40 on a Sunday and wait for my favourite songs to come up on the radio. The secret was to record the song you wanted and you had it captured on tape for future enjoyment for either your cassette player or as the years progressed your Walkmans.

All so antiquated now in consideration to the likes of our digital progressions eh? But good fun – and a real challenge to create the perfect recording, the perfect tape and of course – the perfect playlist mix!

Mixitup and Playme Now as a game is all about creating the perfect playlist but with a small twist and that is ‘to create a themed playlist only!’

Our task is to create a Themed Playlist containing
Song titles to the Theme of …
I have been having some very bizarre dreams of late – right across the board in topical range – from fetish and sordid sex to giant rats and ghosts and dark places to large ant swarms and wild dancing scenarios …. so this week our theme is “The Weird Dreams That Keep Waking You Up At Night …. “”
So there we go folks – your challenge is set – in the comments section below drop your 5 – 7 suggestions and let’s get together and create ourselves a wonderfully weird and wacky playlist to the theme … “The Weird Dreams That Keep Waking You Up At Night …. “”

        1. Not bad, but still trialling things – it is either gluten free crackers or bread that is my culprit or even sadder are both of my culprits.

        2. Hi Sadje, no, it’s not which is just as well, as l have a nut allergy. I think the problem for me is Maize, Your question prompted me to look at the bread ingredients again and l have seen that for some reason it is using maize starch. Well l have a sore stomach developing now, which ties in with breakfast which was a later brunch than a breakfast and l think l have developed an intolerance towards maize now.

        3. Well that is now what l am realising, That Maize is a big issue for me … but this is more alarming than many might imagine 🙁

It’s now taken a huge percentage ingredient out of an already reduced diet.

          Mm, it’s mm, disheartening really.

        4. Well strangely enough something Grace said yesterday made me think of something. I was diagnosed with chronic Candida in 2016 BUT, because it was diagnosed by an alternative doctor over here and not a known doctor … the medical professionals over here refuse to officialise the diagnosis or even attempt to diagnose me with it.

According to the professionals over here, you can only have chronic Candida if you are suffering with aids … l have Candida of the gut and the organs and one of the many components l struggle with is ‘maize’.

It’s all incredibly complicated and made more so by the NHS who keep poo pooing the diagnosis.

        5. I did some research and candida is not only a common infection in immunocompromised people but also people who have other GIT issues. It can be treated with anti fungal drugs and a modification of diet.

        6. Hey Sadje yes l know and have been through all of that which is why l have spent years modifying my diet, it is why l am on the blandest of diets today.

However Candida is normal – Overgrowth isn’t that’s not so common and that what l have.

The biggest problem over here is that because the NHS don’t recognise it as an official problem that you can’t get help with it. There is also a lot of mixed information on it because it is not officialised as an actual diagnosis – everything is alternative.

It makes life very difficult to pin point with any accuracy paths to follow and more so when in addition to that you have allergies and intolerances on top.

If l was to receive a confirmed diagnosis over here then l could start to get an actual dietary plan to follow.

I have followed everything going and still find no relief and instead of being able to eat through a balanced diet of sorts have found that my actual diet gets smaller and smaller.

Chronic Candida Overgrowth as it is called is not just the small amounts that people can suffer with as a normal fungal infection, it becomes problematic when it becomes chronic and an ‘overgrowth’ When that happens …. it becomes candidiasis. Which is what l have.

I have a tablet to take or rather did have, but was told to come off it because it was making the overgrowth situation worse.

When you have healthy levels of bacteria in your gut, then they can keep normal candida under control. You may recall me discussing this a few years back [2018] when l was having to take a mammoth load of antibiotics to deal with the damage in my shoulder? They were at that time stripping back the healthy gut bacteria l had and were causing major issues for me.

I have not fully recovered from that time and my gut health didn’t truly recover. Although l don’t take anything now, my gut was stripped to the very basics and that was due to the hellish stress l was under.

What l was trying to get the NHS to register help with in 2019 was that the continued presence of Candida Overgrowth had caused me to experience much worsened gut issues and that l believed l had developed ulcerative colitis or a hybridised and basterdised variation of it … and they refused to acknowledge that or me.

The overgrowth affects other parts of my body mostly my skin on my legs but if stress is high it can develop a form of eczema and l then have to treat that separately from my gut, but with a very limited pool of ingredients to use due to allergy and intolerance .. my pickings are slim.

This is the current problem. So do l have a candida flare up? Probably . Which is why l have to find the aggressor quicker than l am doing, but with no medical assistance it makes it very hard. Sadly.

        7. Your NHS is a broken system. Can’t a private practitioner prescribe you the meds for candidiasis?

        8. No, principally because the only ones willing to diagnose candidiasis are alternative healers otherwise the only time candidiasis is officially recognised is if you are an AIDS patient.

        9. I see that. We always idealized your system. Probably a legacy of colonial thinking. Most doctors used to go to England to train and get higher qualifications.

  1. Morning Rory! Thanks for reminding me how old I am… listening to the Top 40 on Sunday with my shiny new radio cassette player. 😉 I’ll have to think about the weird dreams theme – I suddenly seem to be stuck in 1977 😮 LOL

  2. Good Evening Friend 🙂
Lately I actually have been craving to see the dreams which touched me some way in the past. A sequel which I would love to see to the end. hehe I am considering them to be a series 😀
    Happy New Day!
