Universal Greetings – Inspirational Days
Thursday 04/03/2021 – Season 16 – Series 12
Wishing my Guest Stars a truly wonderful day both on and off blog – make it great!
Universal Greetings is a Community Post l host daily for my readership.

I would like to know aside from those who have already voted for it to stay on as a feature if my other readers enjoy it also.

Every day l dedicate music to two readers – l ask my readership now [not those who have already said so] if they are happy to continue to have music dedicated to them and if so to leave a comment below to the tune of that question.

I will make the necessary adjustments throughout the month – many thanks.
Top 30 Rockabilly Songs 1950 – 1960

Our challenge for the month of March is to create a Top 30 Rockabilly Songs List – 1950 – 1960

Rockabilly was an early form of Rock music which began as a genre in the early to mid 50’s and petered out by the later 50’s when Roll and Roll kicked off into popularity.

Rockabilly artists of note were Elvis Presley, Wanda Jackson, Billy Adams, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbinson and Bill Haley to name but a few. So you have a good selection of artists to use and drop suggestions in the comments section below!
A mixture of photographs from the last three walks and taken of things that caught my eye or were in my line of vision. A couple of the images have filters attached. I am in the process of hunting specifics down on some walks … photos that will look good only in B&W as examples or with sunfilters to them as well as just shots taken that l just liked at the time..
Below we have a mixed bunch of squirrel, ducks, architecture, bullrushes, tree lines and of course it is still lambing season. Hope you like them.
This coming Spring …… A New Snifty Sleuth Mystery will begin ………..

There has been a murder, a terrible Murder!!

  1. Hi Rory.
Is it an actual camera you’re using? I used to have a bag of filters but that seems so long ago now. In the part of London I’m from, there was this huge photographic shop, a bit a like B&Q – I can’t remember what it was called now but there was three letters in it – you had a store card to shop there. I could spend an afternoon looking around.
I imagine it didn’t survive once digital came in, and photo editing apps and everything. It was a really expensive hobby back then, and a very specialist one unlike these days.

    1. Morning Ian 🙂

No, it’s a digital filter – very basic package that came with the camera, but they are not filters like l used to use on one of my older cameras which l agree with you seems like eons ago, or before the arrival of the digital camera.

Thinking on it, l think the last time l was using that particular style of camera was maybe 2002 or 3 perhaps.

Looking at those images today .. working from the top left to right the following have a screen or a dilution or an enhancement are … 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8

      1. Yes, I had this big heavy bag to lug about. It wasn’t a casual approach, not like we can do today with a little camera and photoshop it all when we get home.
I built a darkroom too, in my Gran’s spare bedroom. I had to pack it in when I settled down as it was far too expensive to keep going with household bills to pay. And then digital came along… 🙂

        1. They were the days, l remember likewise bags with cameras, lens, filters, film. My father was very much into that also. He continued almost right to his death a few years back.

We didn’t have a darkroom, they were found with the likes of the true photographers 🙂

    1. You should be asleep, l know that you know that, but in case you didn’t know that, you now do know that, however by the time you see this, l am guessing you already know that and now not know but now alseep, so l will catch up with you soon too 🙂

  2. Good morning Rory 😊
I vote yes please on this universal greeting post. No matter what time of day I see it, it is a treat. 🎶😊
Beautiful photographs! Happy you’re able to get out and walk. 😊

    1. Hey Suzanne, well l will let you into a little secret ….. l put a tick down for you anyway 🙂
