  1. It seems like you said 1970 to 2010 and stayed in the 70s and 80s. In saying that

Fade to black – Metallica and
    November rain – GNR
Are my picks that rival any of your list

    1. Hey Stephen, my list is not an ultimate listing, they are suggestions – hence why l say that readers can add their own in. There are so many l could have listed, but l could spend all night writing up 300 songs or alternatively have readers like yourself drop their own suggestions in. πŸ™‚

So your 2 are as listed yes?

        1. There are quite a few variations on Layla, from the original recording onwards – why don’t you make a suggestion of your own as to who you might like to hear it from?

    2. You can pick any you want … it’ll come down ultimately to how many readers actually contribute, and if we have too many suggestions of too many single songs over votes for suggestions or on top of other suggestions.

I have a fairly healthy ‘rock’ reader base – but you know the score – not everyone actually comments πŸ™‚

  2. How on Earth can I narrow that list down?? Ummm…
    Stairway To Heaven
    Baba O’Reilly
    Hotel California
    Born To Run
    Comfortably Numb
    Edge Of Seventeen
    Enter Sandman
    War Pigs
    Dont Fear The Reaper

    Add Pearl Jam – “Black”

Where are all the other music lovers??πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸΌ

    1. Well that’s the whole point isn’t it πŸ™‚

It’s like l had to pick based on mostly the best and time constraints haha – there are way too many good ones out there and people will always suggest their own, it is a no win win situation most of the time.

These are hard lists to compile – l have found if l leave it too long, people don’t vote in after day 4, and if l only allow a little time, l only get regular voters in or people misread it.

  3. Hotel California – Eagles
    White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplane
    Across the Universe – Beatles
    Pianoman – Billy Joel
Stairway to Heaven – Led Zeppelin
    Jamie’s Cryin’ – Van Halen
    Rhiannon – Fleetwood Mac
Honky Tonk Woman – Rolling Stones
    Mystic – Van Morrison
    Bad Moon Rising – CCR

  4. Hey Jude β€” The Beatles
    Bohemian Rhapsody β€”Queen
Running on Empty β€” Jackson Browne
    Hotel California β€” The Eagle
You Can’t Always Get What You Want β€” The Rolling Stones
Gimme Shelter β€” The Rolling Stones
Positively 4th Street β€” Bob Dylan
Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right β€” Bob Dylan
Both Side Now β€” Joni Mitchell
Bell Bottom Blues β€” Derek and the Dominos
Layla β€” Derek and the Dominos

    1. Oh, also
Scenes from an Italian Restaurant β€” Billy Joel
      She’s Always a Woman β€” Billy Joel
Suite Judy Blue Eyes β€” Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young
Fire and Rain β€” James Taylor
      Your Song β€” Elton John

  5. Well I won’t have time for that… work is insane and I won’t be able to do 30 songs at all… 7 maybe? One song per decade.

    Rock huh ? Ok – I will try ✌️

    1. Hey Trisha, you have misread this slightly – l am not asking you to create a list of 30 rock songs. The task of the post is looking to create 30 rock songs – not each reader make a seperate post of 30.

There are 34 song suggestions in the grid, all a reader needs to do is 1] vote on any of those or if they wish to suggest any other tracks they can do.

So all l am asking for you to do, is take a look at the songs above and say l like , x, y and z or also l want to add a, b, and c.

So worry not, this is not about creating a Top 30 list of your own on your own.

    1. Very much so – glad you are happier and great choices πŸ™‚

Time is always of the essence we never seem to have enough, so anything that doesn’t use up too much is always a bonus πŸ™‚
