The Brisker 25 Round Up 2#

Episode 211/12/2020Brisker 25 Directory

Admittedly l have only just started getting back into walking mode. I walked yesterday and those few images were displayed to you in the last episode of Afternoon Strollings .. and l walked today late morning, once my shower had been installed and before you ask, l shall tell you – yes of course l am thrilled, more so that l was able to use it this morning before taking my walk.

The first proper shower l have had since my last proper shower on the 11th October. In the periods inbetween l have had to struggle with a set up that was inadequate at best for basic bathing let alone showering. But it felt good to stand naked underneath the heat this morning and for the first time in 8 weeks, l actually felt like l was clean! Obviously l have been naked before BUT, trust me when l say that previously in the old set up, naked came at a cost which was bumps and bruises whilst one tried to work themselves into a contortion suitable for showering!!

So the images that you have in the first gallery below are actually from last Saturday, my last official walk and this morning is the second gallery and as an absolutely special treat the third gallery is excellent news indeed and involves Suzanne and she is with her cousin. Images taken in the hospital with The Cancer Bell and at home where friends sent her balloons.

I took it easy on today’s walk, and l shall take it easy on tomorrow’s walk as well and not push myself, but come Sunday – l start the reboot .

Gallery 1 – Saturday 5th December 2020.

Gallery 2 – Friday 11th December 2020.

Gallery 3 – Friday 11th December 2020.

This morning Suze rang the End of Treatment Bell in her hospital unit – and for those who don’t know what that means … it’s an acknowledgemt symbol of hope which marks the end of the radiation treatments. A tradition that is worldwide and translated says ‘I got through this and l am on my way.” I am so very proud of her and very pleased that she managed to get to the end of her treatment in one piece. She’s got this!

Anyway, my thanks for joining me and l will see you next time.

  1. WOOT WOOT!πŸŽ‰βœ¨πŸŽŠπŸ”” Suze looks a little thin, but otherwise she looks great for all she’s been through. Now she’s on the recovery road, and hopefully it won’t be too bumpy!

I love how clean the water looks. That algae is gross! The squizzles was cute. Nice of them to Pose for youπŸ˜‚

And YAY!! Shower fixed! About damn time! I’m very happy to read that you’re being easy on yourself.😘

    1. She has lost quite a bit of weight that is true Angie, she was never truly heavy to begin with but she was 10stone at the start of this year – l say that, because you probably remember like l do when she started to look thinner in the early part of summer this year, before we knew of the cancer itself.

The squirrels did pose which was great, but they do get used to regulars so l have heard, l am now thinking of taking some peanuts out with me and getting them used to seeing peanuts so that maybe l can get some other shots too πŸ™‚

Finally, the work they did on the stream 2 months ago is starting to pay off.

  2. Absolutely wonderful to hear Suze ringing the Bell! She’s earned it And then some!

I’m super happy to hear your shower is all set!

The squirrels are adorable. Well done on those photos and a walk.

Hoping this is the beginning of a lovely weekend for both you and Suze. 😊🎢✨

    1. Hey Suzanne, who can tell the way life is going – my weekend has started wet as usual, Suze text to say she was about to be wet also but hers is more complex – to have a shower, she has to be unplugged and unwired first.

The squirrels are just great, l love them. I had little robins dancing around my feet, but they were too quick to photograph.

Here’s wishing you a lovely weekend ahead also πŸ™‚

      1. Robins are quick! They hide among the leaves here so that I usually just see the leaves moving and then a touch of red feathers. But they’re gone before I can get close enough for a picture.

Suze will Ring the Bell joyfully I’m sure when she can simply decide to take a shower and then take one! No unplugging necessary.

        Thank you very much 😊

        1. Yes! Plenty of robins in Texas. I was walking a wooded path at a nearby arboretum once and they absolutely seemed to be directing my steps. They’d fly ahead of me in such a sweet way. I hope to always remember it. They’re shy about coming to the bird feeders though. They prefer tree cover and fallen leaves for their foraging.

        2. Yes they can indeed be shy, once they get to know you as a regular they come out of their shell a bit, still hesitant, but once their confidence is high and they trust you, they are always present.

  3. This is just wonderful Rory. Now onwards to recuperating and recovering for Suze.
Awesome pictures and weather looks so good too.

  4. I didn’t know that about the bell, Rory. How interesting! What a relief and joy for you both, and in time for Christmas.

Do you use the block editor or which WP theme do you use? The gallery arrangements look very neat and ordered, all images the same size (though I’m looking at it in Reader not the website).

    1. Hey Ian, yes l use the block editor for my sins, l started using it a couple of weeks before it went live in June and the format is the feature Gallery over simply inserting a singular image you can add several. There are other gallery type formats which l haven’t played with yet πŸ™‚

Suze is currently staying with friends and will be with them l should imagine till end January or mid February reflective upon recuperation period. Suze is very Christmas orientated whereas l am not, however she has opted to not celebrate Christmas this year and her friends don’t celebrate it either so l guess that works out well for her.

There will be others l feel where she can celebrate with her family πŸ™‚

      1. Thanks, Rory. There are pros and cons with the block editor. I use it on one of mine, the older classic version on another. I found my older blogs/themes aren’t supported as well, stuff comes out looking odd.

Best wishes to you and Suze. πŸ™‚

        1. Many thanks Ian πŸ™‚

The block editor is mm … well as you rightly say, it does have pros and cons and currently seems to be glitchy again on the feature Tables which l use a lot or rather did. I really wish they would iron out some more of the cons quicker and make it more user friendly for one and all.
