So there we go folks – Part 2# of the Pump It Large and Dance Long Weekend – The 80’s .
Which were your favourites? Were they even there? I’ll set you all a challenge – let’s create this week the ultimate 80’s Playlist featuring 40 songs of your personal choice between 1980 – 1989!
Let me know your choices below and l’ll ask this question every day in the coming week in The Hello for publishing next weekend! Consider yourselves challenged!
Soft Cell! 😍 oh, we forgot Human League… it’s difficult isn’t it?! Too many great bands and songs. I’ll give everyone else a chance before I cull through all my saved songs for the 80s ones😉🎶💃🏼🌊🦄💫🧸💌

🙂
That’s the problem though – 40 songs – 9 years and how many songs were written in that period? Of the ones written and released, how many made it onto albums over just singles? How many were commercial hits in UK, USA and Australia and Canada and Europe and so on in the same year?
The line up today didn’t include OMD, Human League, Madness, Depeche Mode, Echo, Turner, and the list goes on and on……
The other thing is the series itself – aka – Pump It Large – this one – the last few episodes don’t rally much interest and l may knock it on the head – and that is not derrogative against the few interested – but each episode is a lot of work and with very few comments [yourself excluded obviously] and that is a bit of a downer.
Hey ho, we shall see what the challenge illicits 🙂

Only 40 for the soundtrack to my youth, Rory?? Favs on this list (although they’re all good): ‘You Spin Me Round’ – this track, and Pete Burns, feature in my Liverpool-based novel; ‘Careless Whisper’ – always the last record played at the nightclub I worked at… I was collecting glasses while everyone else was smooching; anything by The Clash or The Pet Shop Boys yanks me right back in time too 🙂 Good choices!

Excellent choices, oh yes the last song of the night – the slowie for the quickies!!

Once again a great list of songs! I hate I am late to the party but I am enjoying this like crazy! Thank you again for sharing, Rory. Have an amazing day!!
