Hank Marvin By Jpmawet – Own work

Marvin, Richard and Welch By jpmawet – jpmawet

Hank Brian Marvin (born Brian Robson Rankin, 28 October 1941) is an English multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter. He is best known as the lead guitarist for the Shadows, a group which primarily performed instrumentals and was the backing band for Cliff Richard, and subsequently for Marvin, Welch & Farrar.

I am dedicating this mini series The Guitar Talkers to Di of Pensitivity 101 on account of an answer she gave to Question [1] of the July episode of 12 Bloggerz

    1. Hey Di always a pleasure there were so many tracks l could have had, l think somewhere later this year l will run a full on The Shadows Theme Times Bio 🙂

      1. I had String of Hits and Another String of Hits on cassette years ago where they played Don’t Cry For me Argentina, The Deerhunter and a host of other classics. Great music

  1. Can you imagine an instrumental on the ‘pop charts’ these days? My favorite songs from my youth were instrumentals – Sandy Nelson, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, Santo & Johnny (who wrote and recorded the sexiest song ever – Sleep Walk), and we were still dancing to Henry Mancini. There was Herb Alpert, Al Hirt – oh my! the list goes in.

    1. Well Grace, hello to you – thank you for the additional names of your favourites 🙂 I know all of them and have time for them all too. You are quite right an instrumental on the pop charts ! Good grief ! 🙂 ha ha

  2. I don’t know who this is?? Never heard of them or their music 😮 maybe just an English group? Huh… interesting – thought we had same music?
