There are sometimes two sets of questions…one with images and one without (same questions).  This is for ease of copy and pasting.

All Questions together in reverse order are:

How can someone win a gold star (i.e. win your approval and/or admiration) with you?

Truth is no one can – l understand the concept of Brownie points and all, but l don’t roll that way. I admire people for what they do for others, not what they do for me. But also l admire people who do things for themselves and don’t get led by society.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Work, create, study, write, read, garden and game.

Do you have a favorite type of exercise?

Walking and gardening mostly. The composting which is a real workout is also an exercise.

Do you sleep with a top sheet? Why or why not?

A top sheet as opposed to that of a duvet? Or a top sheet as in a sheet on top of the mattress below the ground sheet? If the latter then yes, standard practice and if the former then no, only the duvet. “Only the Duvet” sounds funny with this song below 🙂

Only the duvet,
…. knows the way I feel tonight
Only the duvet,
…. knows this feeling’s alright!

Here is my blankey,
….. we are never apart,
They both go together,
…. Nightly from the start!

But only my duvet,
…. Truly knows why, oh why
Only the duvet, only the blankey
Only the duvet, knows the trembles l’ve been through,
Only the duvet, knows how to stop me going blue!

No one can borrow,
….. not a chance,
….. my overthrow,
It’s not a discussion point l have to make,
It’s the duvet part, that makes the blankey!
Only the duvet, only the duvet…

What do you think of best friends of the opposite sex?  Or to put it another way “Can men and women ever be platonic friends?  Doesn’t sex always get in the way?”

Best friends … mmm – yes it works and no it doesn’t work – the compomise is that it’s not impossible – but the mutuality is to have the same ratio of friendship principles in two people correspond for it to align correctly. However, that is the ‘in the physical aspect’ of two people working side by side and so on.

In the virtual world men and women are friends all the time – so that works also. This is and has always been one of those questions in the same running theme of men are from Mars and women are from Venus! This is always one of the good questions.

What is the greatest struggle you’ve overcome?

Several, many and frequently. Grief, addiction, loss, illness, mental health, suicide attempts and self – harm all have been struggles l have overcome during my life.

What is the darkest thought you’ve ever had? What about the darkest thing you’ve done that you’ve never told anybody about?

I think everyone has dark thoughts – it’s the control they have or in some cases don’t have that prevents them from taking the idea or notion forwards. I used to have dark thoughts all the time and that travels with low esteem and poor quality mental health and dark depression.  With reference to darkest things – l wouldn’t call them ‘dark’, but l have played out over the years some kinky fetish practices for other people or being honest – clients from the 90’s.

What is your least favorite food?

Quorn mince.

Can you bake a cake? ***

Despite being a qualified chef – no, l cannot bake a cake or even fake a bake!

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

At this present time – what makes me feel great is all day sun and no wet rain!

When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?

Yes, l had to, there were no options not to.

What’s something your family would be surprised to learn about you?

Nothing these days – and now my family really only comprises my sister and my mother. I don’t communicate with my sister and l talk once every ten to 14 days with my mother. My mother thinks she knows everything about me – but l don’t think we ever discussed my escort days  in London. My father knew but not my mother. So, perhaps that – and then as she knows me – she probably wouldn’t blink an eyelid if l told her – so l guess – nothing really.

****(credit for this question goes to Di @ It’s a Mystery……………..)

Now as to gratitude … whilst l might moan about this and that … fact is way simpler – l am grateful for the love l have in my heart and the friends l have on the net! I am just grateful for all the little things in life we always take for granted.

Thanks for all the questions Melanie !

  1. Thanks Rory for Sharing Your World! Such honest and forthright answers! That Quorn thing sounds awful (I’d never heard of Quorn and had to Google it …blech. And people think mushrooms (another fungus) are nasty… ) Being a qualified chef doesn’t mean that one is a qualified baker. I’ve heard the two are mutually exclusive a lot of the time. My mother was an excellent baker, but she couldn’t cook for instance. I can do both, but I’m not Cordon Bleu in either field! And thanks for those songs! A little music always brightens my day! It’s a pleasure to know you too! 🙂

  2. I was just having a discussion with Older Daughter yesterday about the fact that I complain about never being alone, always people or animals following me…but that I’m grateful for the love and friendship that surrounds me, in the physical world and the cyber world🥰🌞💃🏼

    1. Hey Suzanne, Quorn mince is a meat free alternative made from …

All Quorn foods contain mycoprotein as an ingredient, which is derived from the Fusarium venenatum fungus. In most Quorn products, the fungus culture is dried and mixed with egg albumen, which acts as a binder, and then is adjusted in texture and pressed into various forms.

I have had it in my diet now since 2015 – l never ate a lot of meat before it arrived, but when l learned that red meat can take ten days to dissolve in the stomach – l stopped eating red meat.
