The Really You!
Season 1 – Game 07
What is or who is The Really You? No, really, as in really you? Who are you really? That’s basically what this game is about – who are you – who is – the really you!
Every week – just three questions – about you to tell us!
How Competitive or Ambitious are you?
When younger l was very ambitious with regards my career, but not so much in the competitive department, however this is NOT saying l wasn’t balanced in both departments as l was. There is a distinct line between healthy and unhealthy competitiveness … but it also l think comes down to your personality as well as a definition as to what is meant by being competitive in the first place.
I think that as l have aged and especially more so now, being competitive seemingly is viewed by many younger age groups than my own as a negative thing and l think this is wrong – as said l think it is okay to be ambitious as long as you are not flattening people in your path and l think it is healthy to be competitive as long as it is again not completely dominating your life to the detriment of your health.
In a recent test l took online – my results on return showed that even today l am still somewhat competitive [85%] and yet when l reviewed the questions asked , l couldn’t help but wonder was l really taking an actual competitive test to begin with? It talked of how you handled stress, boredom, learning, risk taking, responsibility, leadership, thinking, creativity, work scheduling, rationality, goal creation and organisation? Admittedly these are not items l would have included in a competitive listing, but that is just me.
Next year Suze and l need to properly start a new business together and for this we both need to be more ambitious than perhaps we are.
Do you ever simply stop and wonder ‘Where has time gone to?’ or is it something that never bothers you?
Oh all the time, who doesn’t? It seems to me that each and every day l ask myself this very question, more so after doing anything physically exerting and notably noticing the ageing process. Does it bother me though? No, not really, it’s not like l can do anything about the way time passes, however l do try and fill my day as best as l am able so at least l can say l am not wasting the time that is passing me by quickly.
If you had a warning label, what would yours read?
Caution – possibly volatile in all directions and without moderation – BEWARE!!!
So there we go folks!
Three basic The Really You questions for you …
… now it’s your turn!
If you create a post with your answer please do remember to add a ping back to this post – l am currently not getting all the links and so sometimes l never see your responses, so a manual link in the comments also helps out – Cheers Rory
Good questions. You’re definitely not getting my ping backs. Hope you haven’t blocked me! 😱😱😱🙀😢
Why would l block you?
Am l not up to speed on all your ping backs? I read the 321 today which appeared this afternoon, which was ‘strange’ because l think you did it yesterday? 🙂
Exactly! Most of my comments disappear when I post them on your posts. The ones on good morning posts are the exception. I didn’t mean seriously block me, but WP has some objection to my comments and ping backs on your posts.
I think Sadje, that is WP all round, l am, like you, in the strong belief that many of my comments go astray on other’s blogs as well. I don’t why this happens, l have tweaked my settings to allow absolutely anything to be seen, and yet as an example l have to ‘manually’ approve Angie’s posts [ and yet l have nothing ticked in my settings to prevent her or anyone responding, it once more comes down to the WP Bermuda Triangle l think?
Yeah, the WP disappearing comments and posts triangle of mystery. 🧐🤔
Exactly, l reckon it has quite the unintended following too, we are cult like ha ha 🙂
Unintentionally!
Oh yes ha ha it’s not a group l would join willingly 🙂
Me neither. 😕
Now my rely to your comment has gone missing too!
And yet, here’ l am responding to both, l can see them on both of my Operating Systems which is how l view my blogs daily, l never use the reader as you know, as l like to see what people are viewing blog face on.
That’s good. But they do disappear. Promise.
I don’t doubt you 🙂
😅
👍
Here’s my short answers. Today is not a good day at Casa Bee Cee, so I’m just answering in the Reader. Have a great day Rory! 🙂
How Competitive or Ambitious are you? I’d say not at all, EXCEPT. I’ve discovered that if I’m playing a game with someone else or a group of someones….I’m highly competitive. I never was before and I don’t much like the change.
Do you ever simply stop and wonder ‘Where has time gone to?’ or is it something that never bothers you? I wonder that all the time, and the older I get, the more frequently it occurs too.
If you had a warning label, what would yours read? “WARNING! Contents under pressure.” (similar to yours, isn’t it?)
Hey Melanie, l am sorry to read you are having a bad day [hugs to you].
Yes, l think we both carry the same cautionary tags 🙂
Keep smiling Melanie, keep smiling 🙂
Also, thank you for commenting, l always appreciate them 🙂
I’m gonna have to give that warning label some thought… hmmmm….
Ha ha, l reckon you do, you’re spoilt for choice eh? 🙂
I love your warning sign. I could use that one for me too. 🙂
Hey Jeanne, ha ha, l think it could well be a universal sign 🙂
You’re probably right. 🙂
Ha ha absolutely 🙂
Interesting that these 3 questions are all targeted to exploiting 1 part of someone’s psyche. A competitive individual is more likely to be driven by the past and this can lead to an impatient personality or vice versa. In fall into the competitive category with my worst opponent being myself. 😉
Ditto 🙂
I am my biggest enemy.
Shall I dare to say…. great minds think alike? 😉
Indeedy 🙂
Hi Rory. Hope these raise a kinda smile……………..
