I like a lot of actors, well l think that’s obvious otherwise, why even have a series like this? I love films, music and books, but l do love films! I think the first Sam Elliot film l saw and was taken with that ‘drawl’ of his was The Shadow Riders [1982] where he starred alongside Tom Selleck and basically followed him since then. He is an incredibly diverse actor.

He is married to Katherine Ross. Now do you know the connection between his wife, Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman? [There’s a clue below] Also, are you a fan yourself? If so what are your favourite films?

The Shadow Riders – 1982

Mac Traven (Tom Selleck) is a Civil War veteran who fought for the North, while his brother, Dal (Sam Elliott), was allied with the South. In spite of this considerable point of contention, the siblings must work together when they find that other family members have been abducted, along with Dal’s girlfriend, Kate (Katharine Ross). Joined by their trouble-making uncle “Black Jack” (Ben Johnson), Mac and Dal relentlessly pursue the criminals to rescue their relatives.

Based upon the best-selling book “We Were Soldiers Once … and Young” by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore (Ret.) and journalist Joseph L.
