Sunshine Blogger Award

Introduction

I have opted to write up these awards differently from the usual routine of acceptance therefore l now no longer use the term ‘nomination’ in any sense or variation.

I use the term ‘gifting’.

These awards are not true nominations, they are one stop awards. Now this means, that if you are gifted, you are under no bound obligation to pay it forwards or gift it forwards yourselves and can simply accept them as the gifted compliments to your blog that they are.

You do not have to answer any of the questions unless you so choose to do so, you do not have to further gift out if you do not choose to do so either. Please – there is NO need to feel awkward if you decline the gifted compliment, l’ll not be offended.

Whilst there are many variations of TSBA doing the rounds – there is always a mixture of the original rules. Whilst l will always answer the questions asked of me whatever the number, l will ONLY ever ask 5 questions maximum of those that l gift to, as l think that is not too excessive.

Questions/Answers

What was your favourite toy as a child?

I had three as a child, and by this l am ageing myself at the 3 – 6 years marker. Two were my long standing best friend Henry and Mickey which are still with me today in fact.  Just up a shelf and watching me daily – Henry a 58 year old Teddy Bear who is two years my senior and Mickey [Mouse] who is 56 this year like me. The third was a 24″ long green plastic train that used to make a woo woo sound when squeezed.

What are your plans for 2020?

I have so many plans for 2020 – with the blog, the business, professionally and with my relationship with Suze, the latter as in we both desperately need a break away together.

We haven’t had a holiday as a couple since 2014. But with life the way it has been with one thing or another we are planning on taking some time out.

With the business, l hope that by this time next year l will be producing a healthy income with my personal professional plans and that Suze and l as a couple will be doing well withour own business.

With the blog – well the blog is constantly undergoing changes and has a lot of new series and features in the pipelines.

Your happiest memory?

Strange how this question always throws me both out and offguard at the same time – However, l think it was the day when l left the caravan after three torturous years of living there and things had got to such a degree of catastrophic disaster that l had to be officially rescued by local government officials. I remember crying with relief that my dogs and l had made it out alive.

What do you value?

Life. This answer is not flippant it comes from a man who for many years felt so low and worthless as a human being that l took great steps to end it with reckless living and countless suicide attempts. I started to really appreciate and value the quality of life when l made the decision l actually wanted to live and stay alive for as long as l could or till l simply couldn’t.

What are 5 things you can’t live without?

Well the air that l breathe for starters, the basics of food, water and a roof over my head, the will to live and a brain and heart to function. I could say love here, but l know l can live without love, friendship and people, but the first things listed are integral to my life.

What are you most proud of?

That after 26 suicide attempts – all failed, l am extremely proud of that, next to stopping aggressive self harm and lifting myself out of a thirty year PTSD depression. These l think are proud moments … l could list accomplishments and achievements but none match up to the initials.

Who inspires you?

Me, l inspire myself – not cocky or self indulgent – but just honest – l have at times astonished myself at the things l have achieved. Next is both Suze and Scrappy.

What do you need more of in your life?

Laughter … no need to use fancy words to describe that more, we could all to with more laughter. Life’s way too short to not have laughter in our lives.

Who are you most thankful for?

Suze – that woman has been the biggest blessing in my life.

What is your word of the year?

Eclectism

What’s your star sign?

Taurus.

  1. Thank you! And I’ll have a go at the questions right here:
    1) At least 20 years ago. I was very happy to move onwards and upwards from snail mail.
    2) I usually do one book review a week, so that would mean I read a little over 52 books a year.
    3) Driving = must have music. Anything else, no music.
    4) I swear a lot, so f-bombs are flying around all over the place.
    5) Most unsettling film would be Stephen King’s It. I’ve heard there’s a new one coming out and I will NOT be watching it, because if I did I’d scare the bejeezus out of the guinea pigs with my shrieking and jumping out of my skin and other carryings on.

    1. Hey Ashley, thanks for answering the questions – l have to agree with IT, the original seriously unsettled me also. Oh yes indeed the F Bomb Rocks 🙂

  2. Hey! Congratulations on the award! Well deserved as always!! I got the waistcoat in the post the other day! It’s perfect! Thank you so much! And the saga with the ties… the postage sticker had come off in the post so there was no postage being displayed on it… I’ve decided that it is too much work to claim back the costs incurred as it seems like a lot of form filling and chasing to get it back! Don’t worry about it all tho! I’ve got the ties and will be starting my project soon hopefully! Xxx

    1. Hey Suzi, thanks for keeping me updated – l am sorry that happened though but glad that both ties and waistcoat have found their right home with you 🙂

      1. I tried the waistcoat on last night and it fits perfect! I’ll be wearing it to work when the weather cools a little bit more! With a long shirt and trousers! Xxx
