Sunshine Blogger Award

I have opted to write up these awards differently from the usual routine of acceptance therefore l now no longer use the term ‘nomination’ in any sense or variation.

I use the term ‘gifting’.

These awards are not true nominations, they are one stop awards. Now this means, that if you are gifted, you are under no bound obligation to pay it forwards or gift it forwards yourselves and can simply accept them as the gifted compliments to your blog that they are.

You do not have to answer any of the questions unless you so choose to do so, you do not have to further gift out if you do not choose to do so either. Please – there is NO need to feel awkward if you decline the gifted compliment, l’ll not be offended.

Whilst there are many variations of TSBA doing the rounds – there is always a mixture of the original rules. Whilst l will always answer the questions asked of me whatever the number, l will ONLY ever ask 5 questions maximum of those that l gift to, as l think that is not too excessive.

My thanks to both Kristian – Tales of the mind of Kristian and  Stuart – Something to Stu Over for their gifts of The Sunshine Blogger Award. If you don’t yet know of them or their wonderful writings or the clicking of their craniums, well guess what? That’s right – head on over there and check them both out!

Answer the Questions

What is your theory on the point of existence?

You know, we are always looking for the point to our existence – you can become slaves to that – l have asked myself this question to the brink of madness. What’s the point? The answer to this question is that every single person alive asks this one question at least once in their life – why are we here?

To learn, to develop, to understand …………. ourselves.

Do you have a favourite film? What is it?

The problem is that l have many favourited films, way too many to simply have one.

If you could travel to any place, where would you go?

If you could do any job what would it be?

One where l wouldn’t have to work all day everyday.

What character trait do you find unattractive?

Bad Hygiene

When reading fiction, do you prefer reality or fantasy?

Both pending my mood

What would you like to see on tomorrow mornings newspaper headlines?

Atlantis discovered – new jobs available!

What advice would you like to give to your ten-year-old self?

Do NOT Bend over!

What song always makes you smile?

What television programme would you love to see back on the airwaves?

The X-Files but with some decent plots.

Have you ever played a practical joke on someone?

Yes, many times.

What, in your opinion, is the most majestic of all God’s creation?

l struggle with this, because l do not personally believe in God. But the belief of God is different to every person and l respect that. So l will simply answer with  …. the planet we call earth is truly tremendous it’s a pity that the peoples of this world cannot seemingly respect it more.

Are you a read the book type of person or a wait for the movie type?

What topic do you feel is the least discussed but the one most needed one to be discussed?

How do we even begin to answer this question? From a world that is seemingly open and liberal minded to ‘oh so many things’ and yet completely oblivious to everything?

Do you prefer hanging out with a group of friends around a fire or chilling alone by a lake?

Both, but it’s reflective upon my mood and which friends.

What inspires you to keep blogging?

Get up, Show up, Stay Up and Keep Words Up.

Do you believe the world is going to hell in a hand basket? Why?

Yes l do, and one doesn’t have to be overly religious or environmental to see that. We are ruining the world, we have ruined the world and there are way too many political powers that are seemingly hell bent on unpicking the basket weave and just damning us all anyway!

Do you prefer coffee or tea as your caffeine fix?

Coffee, but these days l must drink Chicory coffee, so it sort of cuts it …. sort of.

What event in your life do you feel affected you in a positive way?

Giving up smoking, coming off tramadaol and starting to believe in the power of one again – one being me.

What is the current colour of your kitchen?

Magnolia walls, wood trim and blue ceramic tiles.

What is your dream car?

No longer driving, it doesn’t much matter much – a car is a car.

Where did the phrase “by the skin of my teeth” originate?

Did it not come from the Book of Job which was about the trials beset to Job by Satan himself and then God came to the rescue?

My 5 Questions

If you could do something a bit naughty every day and not get caught, what would you do?

Do you have any unusual party tricks?

Can you name 5 things you can do with hot wax that you shouldn’t but the naughty wicked you would love to do!

What is the theory of what is not the theory of what is?

Can you guess the answer to my 11th question yet?

  1. Those were some difficult questions to answer, and you gave some really good answers. I’ve heard of chicory coffee, but have never tried it.
Your kitchen colors sound great – very warm and comfortable.
Thanks for gifting me with the Sunshine Blogger Award, Rory! I’ll give your questions some thought, and post my answers soon. 🙂

    1. Hey Barbara – please take all the time you need 🙂

Chicory coffee is unusual, but currently l am having to really strip my diet now to a 15% diet to manage my gut health again which got out of control when l came off the tramadols and ibuprofens for my shoulder … meaning way less hard strength coffee.

  2. Congratulations on receiving one from Kristian as well Rory! I love how you handled both of our questions. You are correct, that phrase did come from the Book of Job.

You are so right about the political world unweaving the basket!

    Have a great day/evening!
