Part 4 – Phase 2
In the process of ‘Changing the Face’ of A Guy Called Bloke‘s brand, l wanted to introduce new series as well. As l said from the first post, the whole phasing of the brand for me began back in January of this year. I started to recognise certain regularities of features that were proving popular not just in my blog, but so too in the blogs of the readership. I mean like the rest of us l read an awful amount of blogs every week.
One of my constant struggles has always been trying to find a grand balance between producing my own content and engaging with my readership. It’s a real headache for me to try and figure out and configure efficiently how one is supposedly able to produce and create their own content and especially if you are quite a prolific creator of said content and interact and engage, read, like and comment on your audience’s own work in a regular and timely fashion? The answer to that is almost like ‘blowing in the wind’, and however you personally interpret that is down to you, either way it’s one of my nightmares, but l think l have found an answer and there will be a post to support that soon enough in the series.
But something l did notice was the interest in seasonal events and International Days, quite a few of my own readership actively promote these things and l did it for a while in season 3 of the Good Morning posts l ran last year.
As l said in the previous episode the 24 Hour Blog Question posed last week sometime, Quickies Around the World! was created to garner information with regards what the readers themselves regarded as viable days to celebrate and in addition to my own suggestions we had quite a few suggestions for other days to be included and l forsee that as the Seasonal Events Series starts to collect momentum, that we will see more readers nominate ‘special days’ to them and more designs will be created to support those days. So my thanks to Melanie of Sparksfromacombustiblemind and Ashley – Mental Health @ Home for their suggestions, all days were accepted and designs were created for them.
Now yesterday as in 4th July you would have seen just one of the these designs making it’s first appearance and of course it was Independence Day. With regards the future, the Seasonal Events Series will in fact be promoted before the special day appears itself as the series whilst celebrating these days will also form a prompt or a challenge or a quiz to make it a bit more fun.
I wanted to make these days that are celebrated by my readers in our community fun and what better way to introduce that, than a prompt. So each a time a celebratory day is coming there will also be a seasonal prompt or a series of prompts like we did for Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day.
AS a general ruling l decided against creating non stop prompts as 1] they were too complex and defied simplicity and 2] they took up a lot of time for all parties. So now l only run three main prompts these being 321, Not Just My Verse and Question Fun, but from this point onwards there will be the seasonal prompts as well but only as just that ‘to support the season and celebration days/periods of time’.
So below are the designs that were created for the days mentioned and suggested. These were created by Lisa of Lismore Paper who has worked with me in both a collaborative and freelancing role and can be found on their own page here Seasonal Events
As said l do believe that there will be other days added to this collection, but for the time being, there is quite a few. By the way should you wish to have any work created for you by Lisa of Lismore Paper then don’t hesitate to drop her a line.
In the next episode Part 5 – Phase 3 l will be discussing Home Tabs.
So on that note, my thanks to you all for reading.
