K9 Interviews – Elsa 75

K9 Interviews

K9 Questionnaire

A] Personal Details

1] Your Name.

Elsa Eevee Shaffer- I was named by a four year old girl.

2] What do you call your 2-leggeds?

The girl child is my “mom” and the man is “master”. I’m not sure what the boy child and woman are, they joke the woman’s my grandma. She is the main food and love giver, so she’s my favorite.

3] What K9 Breed are you?

I am a husky mix, unsure on father’s breed.

4] How Old Are You?

I turn 5 in June (35 in dog years).

5] Do you live inside or outside and more importantly – do you run your household?

I live inside. I get jealous of the baby and act cute for attention. But these humans give me far less power than I deserve.

6] Where abouts in the world do you live?

I live just outside Denver, Colorado in a town called Thornton.

B] Exercise/Play Time/Adventuring

7] How often do you take your 2 leggeds for a walk?

Weather depending, at least three days a week. In nice weather, almost every day. I take myself on walks to punish my 2 legs when they leave the house without me as soon as they let me out when they get home.

8] Do you do lots of adventuring when out and about?

Sometimes. I love going hiking or camping. I take trips to the dog park and pet store occasionally. The woman and I go for a run once a week. It’s my favorite thing ever!

9] Do your 2 leggeds allow you to talk to other K9’s on your walks or do they huff and puff behind you and urge you to hurry along?

Sometimes. It depends if the doggos act friendly and if girl and boy child are with us.

10] Are you allowed to do ‘stuff’ on your walks freely? Do you walk off or on lead?

The woman is the only one that lets me walk free, but not if the boy child is with us or too many people.

11] Have your 2 leggeds ever embarrassed you? If so how?

Yes. Mostly by being loud.

12] Do your 2 leggeds expect you to fetch the ball/toy every time during soft/hard play?

Fetch isn’t really my thing. I like to chase things but never bring them back. I prefer being worshipped with petting.

13] Do you have favourite toys and if so, what are they?

Although I don’t play fetch, I enjoy chewing on tennis balls and bouncing them down hills.

14] Are you a very much loved K9?

The girl child and woman are very affectionate. The boy child really likes me too, but is learning not to pull hair. Occasionally, master pets me. He shows love different than my preferred method: petting.

15] Do your 2 leggeds take you away on holidays with them?

We go camping and hiking. My human’s aren’t much for traveling.

C] Eating/Food/Treats

16] Are you given treats? What are your favourites?

I get lots of treats. My favorite are either soup bones or salmon.

17] Are you fed a nutritional diet and is your food moist or dry or both or even the raw meat diet?

I mostly eat dry food (though I get special food without grains), but get an egg once a week and canned fish another.

18] Are you allowed to sample your 2 leggeds food?

My 2 leggeds let me eat some of their food, but not certain things (like grain). The women even makes me a plate like the family sometimes.

D] Your Personal K9 Stuff

19] Do you have a favourite piece of 2 legged clothing and if so, do they know?

Not a favorite per say. I like laying on my people’s clothes. Especially fresh from the drier.

20] Do you deliberately play up at times, just to annoy or worry the 2 leggeds?

My 2 leggeds like when I bounce around and act silly. I like to make them laugh and get special attention. I like escaping the yard and eating things I shouldn’t.

21] Do you have a bed or a favourite sleeping place?

I have a dog bed in the master bedroom but prefer sleeping in the girl child’s bed. It’s the only piece of furniture I’m allowed on. There’s also a tent the girl child has in her closet I like laying in.

22] Are you always with your 2-leggeds or do you sometimes need ‘Time out?’

I get anxious about the baby, so I stay away from him most of the time (unless he’s eating). I try to stay with the woman for everything.

23] Do your 2 leggeds make you ‘dress up?’ If so, when or what for and do you enjoy it?

Sometimes the girl child does, but the woman makes her stop. I don’t like it even a little.

24] Are you photogenic or make them run after you to capture you on film?

I hate pictures. I always try to turn away. Most of my pictures, I’m sleeping.

25] Do you have a friendly vet? I don’t have a regular vet office.

My people tend to shop for deals on check ups.

26] What would be your pawfect day?

Run with my humans. Getting to chew on a bone while my people do yard work close by. Going for a walk or to the mountains. Eating a special treat of dog ice cream.

Finally, in your own words tell us something about both you and your 2 leggeds that the questions haven’t touched on or asked about – something unique …

I love going to the mountains. One of my favorite things is finding a pile of deer scrat (droppings) and rolling in it for an hour at least. The only time I like to be in water is in a mountain stream, river, or lake.  Plus, please do check out Grandma Love Giver’s blog!   Kamber Shaffer of The Happy List Maker

Scrappy’s Thanks

My sincere thanks to Elsa and Grandma Love Giver for taking the time out of their day to paw up their answers to my questions. Sadly Elsa the two leggeds rarely recognise our power and just how very supreme we really are in comparison, it’s just something we have to live with.

But l think in truth you are doing pretty well where you are. You are obviously a much loved K9 and that in my books is worth the loss of power. You can enjoy the thrills of camping, and mountain trekking, ice cream treats, sleeping on your Moms bed and being able to roll in deer scat and, and swim in a mountain lake … oh my goodness how very lovely the mere thought of that is! That Else is very lucky indeed.

I loved reading through your answers and had a great time with everything, so once more my genuine thanks and here is wishing you the best greeting of all Power to the Bark!
