James Mckenna – Edwards was one of my teachers at college – he was the Larder Chef, a proud and jolly Scotsman if ever there was it has to be said! He was so very Scottish that even now typing up this random quote and l am talking to meself in full Scottish mode, aye laddy, aye lassy aye, aye, aye am! It was during a brief conversation with Sadje of Keep it Alive this morning talking about my bad luck during the Dear Blog … 10.19 – 25/04/19 that l happend to chance upon something he used to say – he said in typical broad Scottish accent, that when it was the weekend he was there [wherever there was] he was there anyways tossing cabers, playing bagpipes and sporting a kilt whilst frolicking around looking for Nessie on the loch, that when chips were down you had to laugh at laughter itself … so without further ado .. l give you this ..
“Horty hort hort!” It confuses the laughter within us and that in turn cheers us up, life’s too short to not horty hort hort!”
“If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane.”
“Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness – the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.”
“The earth laughs in flowers.”
“He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad.”
