1] Blog Name
Yes!..The 3 a’s is what makes my BLOG different.. (normally that’s the first thing that people notice)
2] What is your blog’s specific genre?
Can’t imagine myself or my blog falling into any particular category or Genre. I write about anything and everything that finds my muse
3] How old is your Blog?
I wrote my first post in 2011, that makes it 8+ years. Time does fly by when you enjoy what you do!
4] Why did you feel the need to start an actual blog?
Expression gets difficult when no-one has time to listen to what you have to say.
Create a blog – and suddenly everybody wants to read what you write!
I write to express..
5] What age were you when you first started to write?
In my late teens, as far as I can remember
6] Was it a natural process or did something or someone inspire you to put your first thoughts to paper?
A friend had suggested to try my hand at blogging.. and look! 8 years, I’m still around.
7] Would you say that your creativity flows easily or do you need to be motivated by an event or a moment in your life to trigger it?
There are moments that creativity does flow like water from an Indian tap, at other times, no matter how much you turn the tap, only a few drops trickle out.
995 posts in 8 years, you do the math.
8] How frequent or prolific are you with your writing and blogging?
I try to remain constant of around.. at least 5 posts per month
9] Is it just WordPress that your writing is displayed or other platforms as well?
I’ve been faithful to WordPress ever since I’ve started blogging. Links are sent across to different social media on Facebook, Twitter and Google.
10] Do you use social media to advertise and market your blog? If so which ones and how effective is it/are they?
I wouldn’t call it advertising as such, more like an easier access to some users across social accounts. People can be really lazy to go to your website, links across platforms help that way.
11] Writers block we all get it at one point or another – if you do suffer from it, how do you tackle the problem?
Like everything .. that phase will pass too. Just treat it as a break you’re giving yourself
12] Which is your preferred writing/creative style?
I don’t follow any such pattern, My USP is all about .. how well I can relate to another person reading my posts. I’m pretty casual when it comes to writing
13] What is the best thing about blogging in your eyes?
How people connect with each other through the medium of blogging – sharing experiences and putting yourself out there. Not everyone can do it.. and for those who do (including myself) a pat on our backs!
14] What prompts you to write about a topic on the day that you post?
The experience behind that actual topic.. there are some moments that happen in our lives that just cannot be kept within us, its better shared.
15] What advice would you award new bloggers to help and encourage them promote their blog and engage with their audience?
Award for creativity, thinking out of the box… and keeping content relatable. People need to connect to ‘you’ through your writing.
So an ‘Out-of-the-Box’ Award would be a really cool award to hand over to someone. People out here are seriously talented!
16] Do you have an overall blogging strategy or simply write because you enjoy writing?
Just the thrill and enjoyment of writing.
17] Do you feel it is important to have an engaging audience to the content that you write?
It is.. but then again, that isn’t in our hands. All we can do is try and if people like what you write, they will surely get in touch, comment, share etc.
18] If no one ever commented on your blog would this concern you, and if so how would you rectify the situation?
It would surely feel a lonely place. But that said, all good things take time. One can’t expect miracles overnight and we all improve with time.
19] How long from start to finish would/can your content take you to complete?
Adding the editing, spell check, grammar and the overall presentation, I’ll say anything around 30-45 minutes.
20] Which do you think are your best 3 posts to date? Please link below so that our readers can see your style and take a step into your world.
If my blog were a living person, he would really be disheartened hearing this question. I believe every post written is special to me…
Do visit my blog and you tell me! You’ll find it all in here www.theextraaamile.com
21] Finally, what advice would you offer new writers to the blogging community?
Be yourself and blog because you love to .. and not to only focus on gaining followers or increasing hits. Good things take time. Quality over Quantity every time.
My thanks to Savio of Goin’ the Extra..aaamile for the comments and answers to the Truly Inspired questions as well as taking the time out to think about the responses.
Savio offers some interesting thought in the process of blogging and writing and one of the beauties of writing, blogging and of course WordPress is that we have so many talented writers and creators that we have the room for so much imagination and inventiveness. The secret to your success lies within you and your heart. You must find a routine that you are happy to follow and can live by.
Some very nice advice of course is to always be yourself, to blog and write as and when you so wish and to not specifically tailor it to your readership based on statistics, but to always derive enjoyment from the task at hand. As Savio so rightly points out and l will leave you with these words of truth .. Good things take time. Quality over Quantity every time.
So if as of yet, you are not yet aware of the writings of Goin’ the Extra..aaamile then l strongly suggest you take a stroll over and check out the archives.
