1] Blog Name
2] What is your blog’s specific genre?
There is no specific. It is writing, poetry, travel and personal sharing. So all kinds of things to share. Ha!
3] How old is your Blog?
Only 8 months old this month! Whoop!
4] Why did you feel the need to start an actual blog?
To share my writing and things I have and am going through with others. I wanted to share and see if others were going through the same things, giving an opportunity to understand and show support to each other. Just getting things out of my head and also just writing, one thing I have found I love to do.
5] What age were you when you first started to write?
Maybe fifteen, I know I was in my teens and writing poems.
6] Was it a natural process or did something or someone inspire you to put your first thoughts to paper?
It was originally a natural process for years as I was growing up. Then recently a counsellor told me the best way to get things out of your head is to write it down.
7] Would you say that your creativity flows easily or do you need to be motivated by an event or a moment in your life to trigger it?
I think it varies from day to day, situation to situation. Recently, if you read through my writings, you will see it is life moments that have triggered most.
8] How frequent or prolific are you with your writing and blogging?
I am frequently on my blog and writing, but not as frequent as I would like to be.
9] Is it just WordPress that your writing is displayed or other platforms as well?
Just WordPress at this time.
10] Do you use social media to advertise and market your blog? If so which ones and how effective is it/are they?
I don’t but I will be soon. It will be Twitter and maybe Instagram. I understand they are both really good in getting the information out there to others.
11] Writers block we all get it at one point or another
If you do suffer from it, how do you tackle the problem? – I just write. I was told once by someone I look up to, that in dealing with “writers block” the best way to get through it is to just write. Start putting something down and you will come around to find that thing you want to write about.
12] Which is your preferred writing/creative style?
I have no preferred style actually, at least I don’t think I do. Never really thought about it.
13] What is the best thing about blogging in your eyes?
You find a community that shares your love of writing and sharing. As well as those that appreciate your writing. It’s like your own little blogging family 🙂
14] What prompts you to write about a topic on the day that you post?
Sometimes it is an offered prompt (daily), or something that I have thought or heard about that moves me to write
15] What advice would you award new bloggers to help and encourage them promote their blog and engage with their audience?
Realize that no matter what, your voice matters, your writing matters…If nothing else you have a chance to make a difference to someone. So just write
16] Do you have an overall blogging strategy or simply write because you enjoy writing?
Simply write because I love and enjoy writing. (And maybe hoping that one of my pieces catches someone’s eye and they would like me to write for them one day)
17] Do you feel it is important to have an engaging audience to the content that you write?
Of course, that’s what keeps us going and writing more. Once you start getting feed back and an engaging audience, it fuels you to continue and do more, hoping you are reaching them all again with each piece you write.
18] If no one ever commented on your blog would this concern you, and if so how would you rectify the situation?
It would a bit. I would make sure I am commenting on other blogs, giving my support to other bloggers. One thing I have realized is that everyone supports each other by liking and commenting on each other’s writings.
19] How long from start to finish would/can your content take you to complete?
It depends on what I am writing and want to accomplish
20] Which do you think are your best 3 posts to date? Please link below so that our readers can see your style and take a step into your world.
You will see, in your reading these I share, that I have been going through a lot in the last year and I thank those that follow for being there and I hope in some way I help others with my sharing these things.
I decided to share four. They are writings and poems (which is how I started writing when I started in my teens).
21] Finally, what advice would you offer new writers to the blogging community?
I would say, write. It doesn’t matter if it is a short hello or a long story. You will develop followers and they will want to read all you write. Do what you do, follow others and like and comment on their posts and they will offer the same to you in kind. There is a community for each and every type of writing out there. Find yours and enjoy.
My thanks to Belle for taking time out to complete the Truly Inspired questionnaire and allowing us to step into her world a little bit and see what makes her tick and tock! My congratulations to you Belle on your 8 month old blog also – whoop whoop indeed!
The beauty of blogging is that for many it is a process of healing and the writing during that time can be cathartic, once the healing has taken its course the community then acts as both a wellbeing and mindfulness centre which further aids our health. As Belle rightly says, the other beauty to the community is that with their encouragement and motivation they both inspire and fuel you along to achieve more and desire to achieve more. That writing as we do helps us to re-energise, reboot and in many cases evolve as much as our blogs adapt and evolve to meet and greet the community.
Finally Belle’s advice to new bloggers is pretty motivational, but very true too – do what you do, follow others, engage and communicate with them, interact with the community and your readership and that – within the community there are smaller communities that are there for you and your style as well as many other styles, they will find you and you them. That is the true marvelousness of this blogging family.
I am sure l don’t need to remind you to do this, BUT if as of yet, you are not yet familiar with the Wondering Belle blog, then l would say once you have read her interview that you hot foot it over there and have a wandering of your own through her archives.
So what inspired YOU to start your blog?
