1] Blog Name
2] Genre/Blog Style
Not sure how to answer – dating/finding love after 40?
3] Blog Age
3 months old
3] At what age did you start to write and what was your motivation for doing so?
I only started writing a year ago. I was always a story teller, not a writer. A good friend encouraged me to write my stories down.
4] Does writing/creativity come naturally to you or do you struggle to invent something inspirational each day/week/month?
The stories come naturally because they are from my real life experiences. I struggle to write them the same way I would tell them.
5] How prolific are you in your craft?
I wouldn’t say I am prolific at all. I would say I’m slightly past experimental and maybe starting to gain a little steam.
6] Are your writings displayed elsewhere or just WordPress? If so where?
Just WordPress. I really like the blogging community there.
7] Do you ever suffer from writers/creators block? How do you combat it?
Not really. I do have periods where I could write for hours and then days with nothing. I try to stay far enough ahead that it doesn’t end up hurting me.
8] What is your preferred creative form?
I would say story telling…on paper.
9] How do you arrive at your decision to write/create/invent about what you have chosen as a subject for the piece/s?
Years of people at work and friends saying “You need to write a book!”
10] Do you need an ambience to work with, such as music, quiet, scented candles, yoga, exercise, reading, film or something else?
No, I need nothing except something to write on – phone, laptop, even a notebook. When I have a thought, I start writing.
11] What helps you to create your content?
It’s all life experiences for me. Sometimes a conversation or something will remind me of an experience and then I go write about it.
12] Is your content driven by your journey or your story, or by the journeys and stories of others?
It’s all me!
13] Are there any specific things which enable your creative juices to flow more steadily?
I write the most when I’m flying (which happens twice a month).
14] How long from start to finish would/can your content take you to complete?
One post can take me anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days depending on how much I’m in the groove.
15] Are you pleased with your finished pieces? How do you feel when you receive acknowledgement from another?
I am usually pleased, though I edit up until the time I go to bed the night before they are posted. I love getting feedback from others!
Finally, what advice would you award writers or creators looking to express themselves and to then display their works to the world?
Being so new at it myself, I’m not sure my advice would be worthwhile. However, I would say find your niche where you can be you and think about the audience you are writing for….and then just go for it!
My thanks to Finding French Charming for taking the time to participate in the Truly Inspired series and sharing her thoughts with regards her motivation and inspiration to her blog, her writing and more importantly the very essence to her enthusiasm, her story telling.
I love story tellers, because they can create the perfect ambience for the listener or reader to become embroiled in the tale. It’s a real beauty. If you are unfamiliar with Charming’s work, check this out: After “The Kiss”, penned a few days ago.
Also take note to heed of the advice awarded, for in its most simplistic form it’s accurate, “Find your niche and go for it!”
My sincere thanks once again to Finding French Charming.
I would love to hear from more of you, stop being so modest and shy …
