Penny Wilson Writes – Truly Inspired #28

Truly Inspired Series

1] Blog Name

Penny Wilson Writes

2] Genre/Blog Style

Poetry/Fiction/Life Stories

3] Blog Age

5+ Years

3] At what age did you start to write and what was your motivation for doing so?

I’ve been writing all my life. I starting writing stories as a child. Unfortunately, I did not discover that I really had a “passion” for writing until I was in my 50s.

4] Does writing/creativity come naturally to you or do you struggle to invent something inspirational each day/week/month?

It varies. Some days, it’s almost instant. Other days, I struggle.

5] How prolific are you in your craft?

I write almost every day. So, I guess I would say that I’m fairly prolific.

6] Are your writings displayed elsewhere or just WordPress? If so where?

In addition to WordPress, I’ve had the pleasure of being published for a few pieces. These pieces are on WOW! Women on Writing, Ariel Chart, Introvert Dear and Spill Words Press. You can find my work by searching for Penny Wilson at these sites. I also have a Twitter account where my WordPress posts are also posted. You can find me there at @pennywilson123

7] Do you ever suffer from writers/creators block? How do you combat it?

I do get writer’s block occasionally. I am currently pushing myself to do a Post-A-Day on my blog. Sometimes, if I push myself, that’s what makes the creative juices start to flow.

8] What is your preferred creative form?

Writing and Poetry.

9] How do you arrive at your decision to write/create/invent about what you have chosen as a subject for the piece/s?

I never know what will inspire a particular piece. Sometimes it’s a prompt I see. Other times, I never know. It could be as simple as a word or phrase that I hear.

10] Do you need an ambience to work with, such as music, quiet, scented candles, yoga, exercise, reading, film or something else?

Where I write varies. Most of the time, I am sitting in bed or on the couch with my laptop in my lap. So ambience is not a must.

11] What helps you to create your content?

It’s a wide variety of things. Mostly, life experiences. But it may simply be as simple as a word or phrase that I hear.

12] Is your content driven by your journey or your story, or by the journeys and stories of others?

I would say that my content is driven by my journey. I write a lot about things that happen to me in everyday life.

13] Are there any specific things which enable your creative juices to flow more steadily?

I must be well rested. I’ve always been the type of person that needs 8+ hours of sleep per night. If I have less than that, I just do not perform as well.

14] How long from start to finish would/can your content take you to complete?

If it’s a piece for WordPress, most of the time, it’s fairly quick. But I have developed an off & on again process. I’ll sit at the keyboard and sometimes only a few words will come. If that’s the case, I save it and walk away and come back to it later to hopefully finish it.

15] Are you pleased with your finished pieces? How do you feel when you receive acknowledgement from another?

Most of the time, I’m happy with what I write. There are those occasional ones that I think are flops. Many times, I will sleep on it and come back to a piece the next day. Looking at it with fresh eyes will often pay off with corrections or improvements.

Finally, what advice would you award writers or creators looking to express themselves and to then display their works to the world?

Do it! Be bold. Be unafraid of what you write and what you express. Post it. In the end, the rewards will come back to you over and over again!

My thanks to Penny Wilson for taking the time to participate in the Truly Inspired series and sharing with us a few snippets on what entices her to create. Currently Penny is on “Day 19 of my 30 day post-a-day challenge”. [See question 7] Today’s “Stroll” was excellent, but yesterday’s “Footprints” was a classic bit of mystique!

Pop along to Penny’s Blog and check out her content, but more importantly her own personal inspiration!

As Penny Writes  “Do it! Be bold. Be unafraid of what you write and what you express. Post it. In the end, the rewards will come back to you over and over again!”

Come on tell me, tell us … what inspires you to slave over a hot blog day in, day out/

There has to be more than ‘Well you know, l came, l saw and l wrote!”

So what is it, that motivates, enthuses and invigorates you to put pen to paper and finger to key?

I would like to hear from more of you, otherwise, well l will have no other choice, but to stalk you, hunt you down and pounce upon you in a darkened paragraph!

Please drop me an email at ….

…. and l will gladly write you up and share who you are.

It is simple – email me at the above Addy or drop me a line in my contact box and l will email you the questionnaire. Fill it in, send it back , and include images that you feel may support what you write, or about your blog, and l will write it up as a post and insert it into this series here.

Come on, you know you want to!
