K9 Interviews 60 – Gunnar

K9 Interviews

K9 Questionnaire

A] Personal Details

1] Your Name?

2] What do you call your 2-leggeds?

Sgt Major Mom and Private Dad

3] What K9 Breed are you?

I am a Rat Terrier

4] How Old Are You?

I don’t know. The Sgt Major says I am four though. It doesn’t matter.

5] Do you live inside or outside and more importantly – do you run your household?

I live where Captains are supposed to live…in our house. I do have my own private doorway though.

6] Where abouts in the world do you live?

The Sgt Major calls this place Oklahoma.  All I know it is heaven for dogs. Lots of fields to chase rabbits, lots of stores to go into to buy squeaky toys, and a LOT a dog friendly restaurants!

B] Exercise/Play Time/Adventuring

7] How often do you take your 2 leggeds for a walk?

Walkies? We’re going? NOW? Every day a couple of times a day…

8] Do you do lots of adventuring when out and about?

It is ALWAYS an adventure when we go out, whether it is a drive to camp and practice our Army skills or just a walk.

9] Do your 2 leggeds allow you to talk to other K9’s on your walks or do they huff and puff behind you and urge you to hurry along?

I always check out the others…I even like checking out the cats. The Sgt Major likes to spend time speaking with and petting other dogs. She just tolerates the cats on our walkies though.

10] Are you allowed to do ‘stuff’ on your walks freely? Do you walk off or on lead?

A Lead? please…I am a Captain and do not need a lead. OFFICERS Lead, not follow. BUT, the Sgt Major makes me wear a lead when we are going to state parks….they have rules to follow.

11] Have your 2 leggeds ever embarrassed you? If so how?

Only once..the private was packing his stuff for a camping trip..and honestly, he chose the most awful shirt to take. I laid on top of the duffle until he chose something that wasn’t an embarrassment.

12] Do your 2 leggeds expect you to fetch the ball/toy every time during soft/hard play?

I do not fetch thank you very much. I do go through tunnels and across bridges and in between standing rods….

13] Do you have favourite toys and if so, what are they?

I don’t play with toys. I have played with the Private’s models before, but he was upset so I no longer do that.

14] Are you a very much loved K9?

The Sgt Major calls me her “baby doggie” as a term of endearment. Private Dad lets me sleep on his bed when he is up, so I assume I am a much loved member of the family.

15] Do your 2 leggeds take you away on holidays with them?

Always. The only time I haven’t gone with them was due to a medical issue with the private. He’s all better now so our trips are all together again.

C] Eating/Food/Treats

16] Are you given treats? What are your favourites?

P’nut butter treats. Only if I ask nicely.

17] Are you fed a nutritional diet and is your food moist or dry or both or even the raw meat diet?

The Sgt Major cooks my food for me. She says it is more nutritious that way. I only know I get some fine eating here

18] Are you allowed to sample your 2 leggeds food?

Sometimes. It really depends upon the fat and sugar and salt content.

D] Your Personal K9 Stuff

19] Do you have a favourite piece of 2 legged clothing and if so, do they know?

I like their fuzzy sweaters….they make great beds.

20] Do you deliberately play up at times, just to annoy or worry the 2 leggeds?

21] Do you have a bed or a favourite sleeping place?

I have my own bed but prefer either the Sgt Major’s or the Private’s beds.

22] Are you always with your 2-leggeds or do you sometimes need ‘Time out?’

I never need a time out.

23] Do your 2 leggeds make you ‘dress up?’ If so, when or what for and do you enjoy it?

I have many fine coats. Some were made for me by the Sgt Major. Like my cowboy suit, complete with side arm. I love that one. And I had a sweater made like a football but the cat pulled all the wool apart in it.

24] Are you photogenic or make them run after you to capture you on film?

This one was just a quickie, but a bit too quick!

I like posing for the camera. I have learned that I can take my own picture with the Sgt Major’s computer. I have a collection of over 200 selfies.

But this one was a much better shot of me!

25] Do you have a friendly vet?

Yes. She is absolutely wonderful.

26] What would be your pawfect day?

Camping with the family and our cousins, Angie, Garry, and their furbies Daisy and Jake the Poodle.

Finally, in your own words tell us something about both you and your 2 leggeds that the questions haven’t touched on or asked about – something unique …

I like playing on the computer. I can open up browsers, make phone calls to cousin Angie on skype, and have written a letter to Angie with the word program. She has been attempting to translate the code for the past three years. She has never been in the military though so will never get it.

I have my own cell phone as well. I buried it once and it stopped talking to me.

But if you want to check out the Sgt Major Mom head on over to Suze of Suziland Too or Obsolete Childhood

Scrappy’s Thanks

My special thanks to Gunnar, Sgt Major Mom and Private Dad for taking the time to pawticipate in my K9 Questionnaire and sharing the life and time of the Captain at home, camp and the outbacks of the wild with adventuring and trail blazing!
