Ursula wrote her response to my gifting of this award to her last week. I am not just sharing this because this is what l do for others, nor for the fact that she called out and highlighted a problem l have been experiencing with an anon blogger, or that she thanked me for the gift itself – but of something of more importance.

I hadn’t thought about it, not directly – to me the problem was just an irksome, a niggle however – Ursula is spot on – what l was experiencing and for all l know might yet still –  it’s cyber bullying – her slogan at the bottom says it all – we are a family, a community, and as such we have an integral duty of care to each other – to support each other against bullying and bullies.

Together we can all unite and become the solution!

  1. The WP community is beyond awesome! I’m generally a silly goof and generally lead with kindness. Buuuuuuutttttt….. I do NOT tolerate bullies! I may seem sweet but if anyone ever needs my services in dealing with the jerks of the online or offline world, just know that I’m deviously clever and ready to help deliver the (verbal) smackdown!

  2. Me too!! I may be all about love and finding that fairytale ending….BUT…what does every fairytale have?? An evil witch! I can be that too!!! This community is about helping each other be the best we can be. You, of all people, are one of the strongest proponents of that here!! 😙

  3. Thank you for the reblog, Rory 🙂

It’s definitely cyber bullying. I’ve seen quite a few posts over years shared by bloggers who have a contact email discussing a similar situation to yours. It can happen in the comments section too. One person becomes obsessed with your blog and anonymously snipes at you, wearing you down and ruining the blogging experience. It can happen to any of us. It’s part of the learning curve of blogging and participating in social media, which is why we need to support each other and discuss it, bring it out into the open when it happens.

You’re a wonderful member of this community, you’re very supportive of other bloggers, and I hope you know that we’re here for you too!

  4. I don’t like bullies to begin with but cyber bullies are worse. It’s doubtful that person would have the courage to confront you in RL. I hope they can see all your blogging peeps coming to stand behind you and gets the message that bullying is not okay here.
