The Versatile Blogger Award –  VBA

2/3

My sincere and genuine thanks to both Melanie of Sparks from a combustible mind and Clare of Dreams and Adventures at Cosy Cottage for their gifting of this award to me. If you are not yet familiar with either Clare or Melanie’s writing then please do make sure that you pop over and check them out.

Award Guidelines

If you are gifted, you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award.

Thank the person who gave you this award.

Include a link to their blog.

Gift and notify 5 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award  that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

Finally, tell the person who gifted you 7 things about yourself.

My Notes

As l have received two VBA’s, l will gift a total of five writers/bloggers.

l have opted to handle these awards differently – this is not meant to be seen, read or interpreted as derrogative towards the creators of these awards themselves as that is not my intention.

You are under no obligation to respond, there is no need to further gift the VBA out to others should you not wish to. Please simply accept my gift to you as the compliment it is.

What is the Versatile Blogger Award?

The VBA principally is about supporting other bloggers, it’s about community and if nothing else – we can all agree that WordPress is about community, about the freedom to express ourselves through our craft, our skill and our talent.

When you consider nominating a fellow blogger for the Versatile Blogger Award, consider the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page. Or, of course, the quality of the photographs and the level of love displayed in the taking of them.

Honour those bloggers who bring something special to your life whether every day or only now and then.

My Take

I happen to like this particular award a lot, l like the concept and what it stands for – my interpretation of the term versatile means diversity, neurodiversity, variety, resourceful, adaptable and flexible and generally all rounded. But furthermore l see it with not just the blog, but more importantly with the writers themselves and with that criteria, that is how l decided to gift this award out.

7 Things About Me

What don’t you know about me , l would ask?

A Guy Called Bloke is an open reality based blog that talks about my life, my dogs life and more recently my father’s life.

I can be terribly if not brutally honest and this at times lands me in hot water – but l believe in the credo – honesty is best!

Recently l acquired an anon email stalker – who feels quite free to tell me what they think about what l do – sometimes in not so polite terminology.

I like a challenge with some meat to it, so l can bite into it with enthusiasm.

I sit on the Autism Spectrum with my Asperger’s syndrome and this can make me come across as quirky and eccentric at times and guess what? Well that’s a good thing!

I have a fondness for a lot of stimulation mentally so try to furnish my blog with games, quizzes, challenges and competitions to encourage my readership to join in with the fun.

OFF BLOG, l am a quiet socially selective person who enjoys life and mixes with very few people day in and day out, but IN BLOG l am a more socially adventurous, voracious and verbose social tart who loves interacting with the community

I am gifting the VBA to the following bloggers….

Lady D of 3C Style & Team

Fandango of This, That and The Other

Angie of King Ben’s Grandma

Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess

Tanvir of Beauty Lies Within Yourself

    1. Well if we don’t have honesty, what’s left – lies? Not my thing. We live in a wolrd that has become accustomed to being lied to, but as you know, l know, your son knows – lying just confuses the situation even more 🙂

  1. Congrats, Rory. You deserve this award. Two of the things I always appreciate from you are your honesty and kindness. Many thanks for nominating me and my colleagues. It is an honor to have our team work rewarded. Happy Sunday!
