K9 Adventures [12] – Dogs Don’t Look Up?

Two of my favourite things in one picture and TEDDY!

Dogs Don’t Look Up?

Honestly l don’t quite understand where the gall of some two leggeds comes from?

“Whaddyer mean l canny look up?”

It’s like saying that dogs can’t laugh, or smile, or show worry, or do Pilates and exercise and of course yoga! I can do all of the aforementioned, however l will point out that l am a dog and as such how far up am l expected to actually look? I look at Dad and Mummy, and in comparison to me, they are pretty tall [* see below] and obviously there are limits to my actual ‘looking up ability’, but you know l actually watch the little grey squizzlers when they race up trees and l can see them get to the top, so that’s seeing quite high, but if you want me to suddenly tilt my head back and laugh like a crazed raccoon, then no l can’t do that … but l ask you this … why would l want to??

[which takes me into another issue, Dad keeps telling you l am 15” tall and this is wrong, he needs to wake up and smell the poop, l am actually taller. Mummy and l had a frank discussion [that means being honest and not talking to someone called Frank by the way] and she measured me and l can truthfully say that Dad’s talking out of his clickitty, l am actually 18” tall – from paw to middle back and if you include my head then l am actually 23”!! Honestly male two leggeds it’s a wonder they haven’t actually become extinct through their stupidity at times!!]

Buuut, that is not the topic of today’s post, oh no, it’s actually about a few of my favourite things – panic not; l am not going to frolic around in an aproned dress singing in the Alps either! Although …

Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells
And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favourite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favourite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don’t feel so bad

The Sound of Music 1965

… is kind of catchy even to my astute hearing! I can sort of guarantee that at least 50% of you two leggeds will be humming, whistling or even singing that at some point later on today, tonight or tomorrow – it’s true!!

But no, every dog …. What? You want to know what l mean by Pilates and yoga?? You’re kidding right? Ok, well maybe in tomorrow’s post, but Jimmidy Cricket, there are a lot of topics l wish to cover, but l will see what l can do, ok, that’s fair right?

Anyway, no today’s post is about a few of my favourite things.

Every dog, should have a favourite something or the other that they love, l am quite lucky l have a few, admittedly not raindrops on roses, but who knows may be if l saw that happening l might be won over?

Walking, Adventure and Explorations, Eating and Treats, My Dong, My Odin and My Bed! Despite Dad’s silly comments and Mummy’s insistence on washing my toy box [yes folks revenge is still on the platter, just biding my time], they too are also really big favourites of mine! However it is three of those things l want to discuss in a little more detail.

• My Bed

My bed is to literally die for. It was a find by Mummy and it is an absolute gift from the clouds where goodies come from! If it was a treat l would eat it! It is remarkably, no incredibly, no fantastically no even – it’s more than that, it is like the bestest thing ever! It was built for the absoluteness in K9 comfort, you know it’s like it was actually designed, lovingly crafted and manufactured by dogs!! I know, right, how could that even be, like how, HOW??

Now l know, because Mummy has told me that it’s not, but if dogs could make beds, they would’ve made this one! Forgive me, l am not offering you a review, l am not pumping this firm, but sheesh, if you love your dogs, take a look at these!! I have two of these and each one is as delectable as the next! One in the Lounge room with Mummy, and the other in the office with Dad and his box.

Finding a bed for me took them both forever, l can be a ‘tad’ pernickety with my sleeping arrangements, l take off after Mummy in that respect, a good bed all the way ensures a full night’s sleep and rest, which is strange really, because Mummy has really bad sleeping problems [ no, not because of my Patrol Duty alone]. So finding the ‘Wolfybeds’ was a true blessing!

My Bed, my glorious lovely bed!!

• My Odin

I have come to the conclusion that Dad isn’t always that silly, just erm, maybe mm, how do l say this politely and diplomatically well, l think l will just have to say it – Dad can come across as a bit of dunce for a good 60% some days! However, it was because we were all on the search for a new play toy for me, one that was a bit more intelligent than the usual run of the mill toys available in the pet stores that he came across the Odin which is NOT a Viking God, l have to say, although l shouldn’t, although some of you may have seen a connection, whilst many of you may not have, but who knows …

The Odin, is a life saver for the smarty paws amongst us – it’s a treat toy, a toy that’s principal design is to foil us, to make us think more tactfully, strategically – to make us ponder and philosophise on the successful result! I know, l get it, many of you two leggeds are probably laughing away in your way as you do about my comments, my textual sentences – but paws up at you, with index claw extended it’s true.

Check it out for yourself, or if you can bare the shame of it, buy one for your pooch and see their intellectual joy!

Every evening after my walk l get one of these filled with an assortment of treats!

• The Dong

Whilst l was in the Isle of Wigit, Mummy and Dad were somewhat baffled by the disappearance of a few of my dongs which is another treat toy by the way just in case some of you had minds in the gutter! It’s not missing a bing or a bong, it’s just better known as a Kong, but it really is a Dong. So turns out on the Isle that large winged crows were actually involved in the scandalous theft of at least five of my large Kong Dongs! Oh yes, they stuck their beaks into the hole and flew off with it, and sadly dropped it somewhere else!!

When we moved back here, Mummy and Dad decided to just buy me a small Kong Dong, but luckily there are no great thieving crows around, plenty of seagulls, but they seem somewhat dim witted to the likes of the Dong!

This is a Classic dog treat toy, and if your dog/s doesn’t have one, “wake up” they’re awesome!” Mummy makes me frozen peanut butter treats [l may be spoiled, but l am precious!] and then adds a few treats in the bottom, with the frozen ice butter cubette in the top and l can tell you l am one seriously happy doggette!

Every morning after my walk l get one!

These, yes these are a few of my favourite things ….

Anyway, it’s time for my afternoon walk, which should be fun as Dad has had a tipple … ha ha!

Tootle Pip from Doodlepip!

Yay yip yip! Dad has said l can reblog my adventures!

  1. Zeus doesn’t have his own bed, he sleeps on the big two legs beds. But he’s very interested in treat toys. He’s currently on a diet and he’s not happy about it🐾💌
