7 and Three Quarters Nutty

What l love about blogging is just at times the utter craziness to things that we see and read on a regular basis, but also the freedom to express ourselvesย  – within reason of course and so as to not cause offence to others. 7 and Three Quarters Nutty as a series just looks at silly things, hence the name.

I was reading in the paper today about words that are disappearing from the tongue so to speak, the list is below. Over the Christmas challenge however, l believe they might make an appearance. I have recently become aware to an unsual presence lingering somewhere in my blog of something called Pimp Imp, or Imp Pimp and judging by the way it behaves, l feel sure that this might just be one of the things pounced up in some of the mischevious games he makes reference to! So perhaps it might be best if you familiarise yourself with them?

So, without further ado … how many of these words do you not only recognise, but maybe even still use today? But more importantly, do you know what they mean?

      1. Oh I know vamoose – I use that regularly in fact, I don’t use any of the others regularly.
I go to “Quotidien” to buy sundried-tomato spread – so incredibly yummy and sometimes bread. There are four artisan bakeries within two minutes walk of my little nest. I like their matcha latte too.

  1. There are only two words on your list that I use: nincompoop, as in โ€œthat nincompoop in the Oval Office,โ€ and curmudgeon, as in โ€œin my old age, some people have started to call me a curmudgeon.โ€
