The Sunshine Blogger Award Nominations 2018 8,9 & 10

sunshine-blogger2

My thanks to the following bloggers:

Kim of Writer Side of Life

Tanya of Salted Caramel

Mel of Crushed Caramel

For their nominations of my blog for the The Sunshine Blogger’s Award. My Appologies for not getting these done sooner, although l have been a bit busy of late and my writing ability for long content is greatly reduced these days due to my neck and shoulder problem.

The three ladies above are all wonderful writers who run superbly brilliant and entertaining blogs. Between them they cover a much loved range of diversity that all writers like ourselves  enjoy that stretches from between humour and sheer light hearted lovlieness in their tales to insights, observations and opinions of life in general, be this fantasy, real time or historical. If you are not yet aware of them, then l suggest you pop along and say the usual Hey, Howdy and Hi. You’ll not leave disappointed, l do assure you.

Answer the Questions

Kim of Writer Side of Life

What is your favourite place in the world?

I don’t specifically have a favourite place in the world, as that is quite a broad and deep question – there are many places l have been that l adore, but l don’t hold any in any higher regard than the next. Plus places differ l think as we age. One place that l loved when l was there and l have been back a couple of times and would really love to have a more recent trip would be Pompeii.

What do you want people to get out of your blog?

This is a good question Kim. I think however the best to answer this question are my readership? So l would turn this to them, what do you expect from my blog? For me personally, l write my life, the good, bad and downright ugly.  If someone can leave with a smile on their face, then that is great, job done.

Cat person or dog person?

Both, currently l only have Scrappy, but in the years prior to now, l have had a lot of animals and l have thoroughly enjoyed the company of all.

Who is your best author?

I don’t really have a ‘best author’. I read from such a diverse mix, l tend to not favourite any one specific writer.

What is your favourite comfort food?

I don’t really have a comfort food per se.

As a child, what did you dream of doing for a living?

A vet or working with animals or being a writer.

Most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

Trying to feed an angry and hungry 9 foot python.

Would you trust a self-driving car?

Not in this century , no.

What’s the best thing about your own country?

In so far as England? Nothing much really, if brutally honest. Nothing to hold me here.

Which 3 famous people would you invite for dinner? (Dead or alive)

Moonface, Silky The Fairy and The Saucepan Man

What is your favourite quote?

“Sleep, those little slices of death – how I loathe them.” – Edgar Allan Poe

Thank you for your questions Kim.

What do you like best about blogging ?

The ability to write without restriction what l wish to write about and the community.

Write one sentence that best describes your blog or your writing style?

Life observations ,entertaining, witty with a side dish of slap ,tickle and three quarters nutty as a fruitcake!

In an ideal world, how many times a week would you post ?

Well my question back, is how are you defining an ideal world? Currently l make on average anywhere between 15 – 20 posts a day, however this does include RB’s and Post Shares and external taggings and original content is quite possibly closer to 50% of the above figure.

Who is your favourite author?

I don’t have any favourites.

If you could choose a character in a book as your best friend, who would it be?

I think that might be a little restrictive, perhaps if l felt the empathy towards a character in the book, would it mean that maybe l was seeking a BF with the author?

Which device do you prefer for blogging?

Desktop PC

What is your favourite kind of coffee? (if you are not a coffee person, name another beverage)

Black, quarter t/spoon of wood sugar and nothing fancy in brand.

What is your blogging niche ?

Good question – you tell me? Diversity perhaps?

What do you think of blogger awards?

I love being nominated, but they are often very time consuming, hence why l have chosen to do three Sunshine Awards at once rather than three individual posts. I like to dedicate time to them, to make sure they read right and l have done the nominator proud to have nominated me in the first place. Because of the time involved in them, it tends to make many bloggers not wish to take part and l can understand that. One of these can take me around 2 hours minimum to complete from start to finish.

Although l am luckier than some bloggers perhaps, due to my night time and good morning call outs, l have hundreds of bloggers and their links in an Excel sheet so l can grab their links very quickly which saves a lot of time.

What is one modern invention that you could not live without?

Currently my desktop PC

What kind of blogs do you like to read?

When l get the time, those that make me laugh, think and create.

Thank you for your questions Tanya.

IF YOU AND I WERE GOING TO DANCE TOGETHER – WHAT SONG WOULD IT BE TO?

Hard core trance.

HAVE YOU MADE ANY CONFESSIONS IN YOUR BLOGGING POSTS ABOUT MOMENTS OF MADNESS IN YOUR LIFE OR TIMES YOU WERE ALMOST IN TROUBLE WITH THE AUTHORITIES? (I know that some of my nominees have shared a long list of their confessions already, so please do pick the most outrageous!)

Yes many a time, too many to mention though.

See Stories and Tales directory

WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL OR MEMORABLE DISH YOU HAVE EVER EATEN?

Sheeps balls and eyes.

ARE THERE CHARACTERS FROM ANY MOVIES OR NOVELS THAT YOUR FRIENDS COMPARE YOU TO?

I used to be called a similiar likeness to Harry Potter for my looks and Shaggy from Scooby Doo because of my voice.

ARE THERE ANY QUALITIES YOU ADMIRE IN OTHER PEOPLE AND WISH YOU HAD TO A GREATER EXTENT?

People who can read all forms of cursive writing.

HAVE YOU ANY EXPERIENCE OF ACTING, SPEAKING, SINGING OR DANCING ON A STAGE?

Yes, l used to run fashion shows many years ago, and was in charge of choreographing the stage presence, and many years before that l was on stage acting in drama shows open to the public.

APART FROM REMOVING ANY PARTICULAR POLITICIANS, IS THERE ANY ISSUE OR PROBLEM IN THIS WORLD THAT YOU FEEL PASSIONATELY YOU WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE?

Well, where would one start Mel? I mean what isn’t broken in this country [UK] or anywhere else around the world?

IF I WERE TO MAKE YOU YOUR DREAM CAKE – WHAT WOULD THAT CAKE BE?

Something from an Enid Blyton Magic Faraway Tree land.

WHAT WOULD YOU LOVE TO SEE ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE NEWSPAPERS TOMORROW MORNING? (other than than any particular politician being abducted by aliens)

In truth, l am fast and hard coming of the opinion l would rather see blank pages.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD AN INTERNET ROMANCE OR AN INTERNET CRUSH YOU WERE TO SHY TO CONFESS?

What as in being in love with the Internet? No, l don’t think l have ever loved the Internet in that way, this is very similiar to a thought l had yesterday with one of Melanie’s [from Sparks] answers about ‘screwing a lightbulb’, something else l have never done, but alas l think that might be kind of shocking to attempt!

YOU ARE ON MY LIST OF NOMINEES BECAUSE YOU CONSISTENTLY MAKE YOUR POSTS INTERESTING, YOU ARE FULL OF PERSONALITY AND YOU SUPPORT THE BLOGGING COMMUNITY SO MUCH – BUT TELL ME, ARE YOU LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE?

No, l am afraid not, l am much, much, much  more than a simple flat screen and when l am not walking around like a man of 90 with one foot in the grave, l can be more fun.

Thank you for your questions Mel.

Nominations

First and foremost, l offer all of my nominations a GOON 3 Card [Get Out Of Nominating] 3 Card.

What this means, is should l nominate you and you choose to not participate in the Award – that is perfectly fine with me. It’s entirely up to you if you wish to answer the questions. I offer this because these nominations can be a real drag on time and that is NOT being insultive to the creator of the SBA or those who have nominated me, it’s just me being honest. It’s taken me a lot of time to write this up, and l have a fair bit of free time on account of not working, so l can more than relate to those who do not have that kind of time freedom. If you choose to not do anything, again fine.

If l nominate you and you are an Award Free site, then sorry didn’t know. I am nominating your blogs because l like them .. it is really that simple, so without further ado, here we go ………. oh yeah, one other small snippet. You might see the ping to you before l actually get to your blog, if so don’t panic l will get to you soon enough, but my arm is caning me from the writing, so am taking a small break.

My Questions

Why was he called Darth Vader and not Fart Fader?

What’s the worst pair of socks you have ever owned?

Do you think the older we get, whilst we become wiser to a certain extent we become dumber in so far as our faster progression of digital software and if so why and if not why?

What is the difference between an acquaintance and a colleague?

If nothing held you back in your confidence what would you cram into one day where the rest of life would be made easier because of the previous days ac tions?

Of everything you do in a given 24 hours per day what takes up the most time?

If you could travel back in time and change 1 hour of your life knowing full well it will alter your current past, present and future would you do so, and if so what? If not, what prevents you from doing so?

Ok, so we live each day, every second, every minute and every hour of every day, week, month and year, and at which point of any given day, week or month or year would you say you feel or have felt  the most alive?

What’s more important to you? Your Phone or your wallet/purse/bag?

Uh oh! You have died before your time and you are there standing with the Maker and discussing your available options, which are:

Go back as a donkey

Go back as a walrus

Go back as a cockroach

Go back as a completely different person of 40, your choice of gender.

Stay dead.

What would you choose and why?

If you chose the ‘stay dead’ option, why did you do that?

    1. Hey Kim, l think many people can easily misinterpret things – there is a vast difference between holidaying, vacationing, touring and travelling around a country, but a vast chasm of difference when it comes to actually living in the country itself.

When you live in the country in question you are able to pass those comments, and l do so based on that.

Great Britain has many beautiful aspectations to it, the countryside, the history as you put it and a host of many other wonderous elements, but would that be enough to keep me here, given the choice?

No. I have had my fill of this country, history and all 🙂

      Like

      1. Well, strange you say that – because of the three countries l would choose, would be in this order …

        NZ, Aus or Canada.

Never been to Canada at all and l lived in Oz for twelve years, but l did many years ago visit NZ and loved it. It’s weather is similiar to the UK but slightly better l believe?
