M.M.H.B – Film List – 1

Over the course of the Horror Voting week, 181 films were listed and whilst 100 were voted in with 2+ votes or more a handful didn’t quite make the grade as they only received 1 vote each, this week we shall have a look at some of these horrible horrors!

148

Scanners 1981

Scanners are men and women born with incredible telepathic and telekinetic powers. There are many who exercise the benefits of their special gifts in a safe and judicious manner. However, there is a group of renegade scanners who plan to create a race that will rule the world.

147

Leprechaun 1993

Dan O’Grady (Shay Duffin) steals 100 gold coins from a leprechaun (Warwick Davis) while on vacation in Ireland. The leprechaun follows him home, but Dan locks the murderous midget in a crate, held at bay by a four-leaf clover. Ten years later, J.D. Redding (John Sanderford) and his daughter, Tory (Jennifer Aniston), rent O’Grady’s property for the summer. When their new neighbors accidentally release the leprechaun, he goes on a murderous rampage to reclaim his gold.

146

Hobgoblins 1988

Hobgoblins is a 1988 American low-budget independent comedy horror film directed, written, and produced by Rick Sloane, who also served as cinematographer and editor. The plot concerns small, often considered cheaply designed and made hobgoblins.

146

Jason X 2001

The year is 2455. The Place is Old Earth. Once the shimmering blue jewel of the galaxy, Old Earth is now a contaminated planet abandoned for centuries. Yet humans have returned to the deadly place that they once fled. Not to live, but to research the ancient rusting artifacts of the bygone civilizations that caused this environmental disaster. And little does the most recent landing party of intrepid young explorers realize the fate that awaits them.

145

Blood Diner 1987

Two brothers (Rick Burks, Carl Crew) running a diner collect body parts needed to bring an ancient goddess to life.

144

House of the Dead 2003

Simon (Tyron Leitso) and Greg (Will Sanderson) meet a group of friends and set out to attend a rave on a remote island. When they miss the ferry, they decide to ride with Kirk (Jürgen Prochnow), a smuggler. They find the island deserted and discover that the partygoers have been killed by zombies. Now, the group must evade the deadly creatures and try to find safety. However, the only means of escape — Kirk’s boat — has been overrun, forcing the survivors to ward off the undead.

143

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 2000

As it follows the twisted path traveled by five people fixated on “The Blair Witch Project,” “Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2” journeys into a dark and dangerous place where the line between truth and fiction blurs and perhaps vanishes altogether. Individual perception grows increasingly untrustworthy as the film’s protagonists find themselves caught in a vortex of unspeakable evil, the origins of which — human or supernatural — remain chillingly uncertain.

142

The Creeping Terror 1964

A newlywed sheriff tries to stop a shambling monster from outer space before it absorbs everyone in town.

141

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch 1983

Hospital emergency room Dr. Daniel “Dan” Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin), the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a terrible plot by small-town mask maker Conal Cochran (Dan O’Herlihy), a madman who’s planning a Halloween mass murder utilizing an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks and a triggering device contained in a television commercial — all designed to kill millions of children.

140

Pulse 2006

After her boyfriend commits suicide, a psychology student (Kristen Bell) and her friends begin receiving unsettling e-mails and video messages. After a number of disappearances across campus, she teams up with a computer hacker (Ian Somerhalder) to shut down the deadly force before it spreads to the rest of the world.

So how many of these have you seen? Of the 8 which one’s do you rate? I have seen Season of the Witch which was totally awful and in my opinion out of character with the series, Blair Witch 2 which was stupid,  Jason X which was just too far, Leprechaun which was, mm, yes just mm. But l did like Pulse.
