Live! Balancing life with Jovita

2] What is your blog’s specific genre?

“Lifestyle blog.”

3] How old is your Blog?

“5 months.”

4] Why did you feel the need to start an actual blog?

“I have always enjoyed writing and when I turned 50 in February 2018, I decided to pick it up again.”

5] What age were you when you first started to write?

“Truth be told, I don’t remember but my parents say I have been reading and writing since the age of 3. I wrote a full length novel for a contest at the age of 16.”

6] Was it a natural process or did something or someone inspire you to put your first thoughts to paper?

“Once I turned 50 and decided to start the blog, it was very natural. My sisters encouraged me to write about this particular genre. They thought my insights as a working mom who tries to juggle so much may be beneficial to other women.”

7] Would you say that your creativity flows easily or do you need to be motivated by an event or a moment in your life to trigger it?

“To date, I seem to have no problems putting thought to paper. I think up a topic and the words seem to come out.”

8] How frequent or prolific are you with your writing and blogging?

“I am actually really busy in real life so I try to write about once a week. I feel I work best when I put myself on a schedule. The past month, I have not been able to write like I want to as life gets in the way.”

“Blogging allows me to hone my writing and creative skills. It also allows me to share thoughts and ideas with a wider audience.”

14] What prompts you to write about a topic on the day that you post?

“It’s usually something on my mind at the moment.”

15] What advice would you award new bloggers to help and encourage them promote their blog and engage with their audience?

“It’s important to find your niche- I’m still trying to do this. It is also important to write about things that connect you to your audience.”

16] Do you have an overall blogging strategy or simply write because you enjoy writing?

“Both. I blog because I enjoy it. I also blog because I feel I have something important to share. As a doctor, I have an interest in promoting a healthy lifestyle and ways to stay healthy. And as a woman who wears so many hats I feel I can encourage other women who struggle with achieving balance.”

17] Do you feel it is important to have an engaging audience to the content that you write?

“Absolutely!!! I enjoy blogging. But ultimately I want people to enjoy reading my blogs and gain some knowledge from it in the long run.”

18] If no one ever commented on your blog would this concern you, and if so how would you rectify the situation?

“I would like to say that I don’t care but the truth is that we are all human. I am writing in a public forum, and I ultimately want to reach people with my content. I want it to matter.”

19] How long from start to finish would/can your content take you to complete?

Thanks Rory for given me the opportunity to share my blog.

First and foremost my thanks to Jovita of Live! Balancing Life With Jovita for taking the time to write about what inspiresto write in her blog and reach out to her audience in the way she does

If you are not yet familiar with her works, then do make sure you hit the links of her three favourited posts above and whilst there stop and take time to visit her writing, posts and thoughts. One her posts l RB’d only today as l found it quite thought provovative and quite intriguing as a question is this … Why Was I Born?

One of the questions l have or two if you wish in this interview are 17] Do you feel it is important to have an engaging audience to the content that you write? And 18] If no one ever commented on your blog would this concern you, and if so how would you rectify the situation?

I liked Jovita’s honest answers to them – we can all say that we can write for ourselves first and foremost and this isn’t a lie, but we should acknowledge that DO have readerships, we want our posts to mean something to those who read the content – be this just for relatability or resonation – but more importantly, we want it to matter. With the post l linked “Why was l born?” is it not simply a case of “What have l done with my life that is worthy or of note?” Whatever we blog about we hope that people can walk away with something, a smile, a laugh, a question, knowledge, information or just a simpler process of knowing that we are not alone, we are after all all humans.

Once again, my sincere thanks to you Jovita for taking part.

So tell me, tell us. What inspired you to start your blog, was it just a way of venting, or inspiring and exploring the inner you, or did you, like Jovita perhaps see a way of connecting to a larger audience for sharing those moments in life when if not wearing too many hats there is still simply a lot of life to juggle?

Please drop me an email at ….

…. and l will gladly write you up and share who you are.

It is simple – email me at the above Addy or drop me a line in my contact box and l will email you the questionnaire. Fill it in, send it back , and include images that you feel may support what you write, or about your blog, and l will write it up as a post and insert it into this series here.
