Award Nominations 2018

Dominique of 3C Style nominated me for The Sunshine Blogger Award [5] and Kristian of Tales from the Mind of Kristian nominated me for The Liebster Award [10], my thanks to both of you for these nominations.  I have chosen to display the nominations in one post due to the similiarity of the ‘Rulings’ that each award requests and also due to the nominations of WordPress bloggers.

I consider both Kristian and Dominque my friends so l feel sure they will forgive me this dual presentation sleight.

If you are not yet aware of the writing of either then do pop along for a visit, you will not be disappointed , l know that because if you are like me, then you enjoy humour, fashion and passion, mystery and intrigue and splashes of colour and vibrancy in what you read with panache and style aplenty.

One is a scientific journalist with a taste for chic…

….whilst the other is a mystical wordsmith ‘fantastique’!

Passion for Blogging

It’s always a good question – l am passionate about writing, l am passionate about words – am l passionate about blogging though? Such a strong direct word isn’t it – passion? “Barely controllable” is the definition or intensity, am l intense about blogging? Some of my readership might suggest l am especially considering how many posts l make per day, but not all of what l present daily involve an awful amount of writing, but they do display a lot of blogging activity. I am a keen blogger and a passionate writer is that the same? No, l don’t think so. I am however passionate in all that l take seriously, otherwise what’s the point in half arsed attempts, Jack of all trades and master of none style.

So therefore why am l passionate about what l do l think is more the question. The answer to that is that l thoroughly enjoy the experience, l use my blog to express myself in the form of writing and activity. If l am going to dedicate a vast majority of my freedom to telling the world about who l am – then l must be seen to be enthusiastic surely? Perhaps that is just my take on it, but no different to those other bloggers who have different topics in which they feel a measure of pride and motivation for – it always comes to expression of oneself and the ‘passion’ they feel for that chosen topic? But is it also not a journey into themselves further in many cases?

10 Random Facts

Born in London 1963 and l am owned by a dog called Scrappy Doodlepip who allows me to share my blog with her. I live in Kent in the UK, l have a loving partner Suzanne who finds my Asperger’s a challenge as l have found her menopause to be of her. I have only been blogging since September 2017 but thoroughly enjoy it and more so the community. I am not big on people and am often classed as anti-social when in truth l am actually selectively social, but l am oft in fascination of people and study them.

Dominique’s 11 Questions

On which side of the bed do you sleep?

The side that isn’t occupied.

When did you discover you had a special talent?

I think it was when l was 23 years of age.

With or without music? (Whatever comes to your mind)

Mm, extremeley reflective on what l might be doing – sometimes it might be too loud, so l must turn it down a bit, other times the rhythm can break my beat.

You are in an antique shop. What are you looking for?

These days nothing, l tend to live more minimialist and no longer collect clutter irrelevant to whether it is antiquity or not – thity years ago, when l was working in house clearance l would be looking for the owner to sell.

Do you talk or make some noise while you do it? (take it either way that you want)

Once more reflective and of course consideration must be taken if noise is seen as effective and warranted or not.

Complete the following sentence: I like it when you (name the person if possible)…

… say what you mean and mean what you say.

When was the last time that you got scared?

Mm, as in really scared or just scared? 2015 when it was discovered Scrappy had a lump on her left lung and l thought l was going to lose her so close to having just lost Dora in 2014 which answers both. However, whilst she still has that lump it is benign.

Do you like to do pranks? If yes, share one of your pranks. If not tell us why.

Yes l do as long as they are not causing anyone any specific harm, l actually run a series concerning pranks called ‘The Joker in You.”

How old where you the first time you…? (Anything goes)

Mm, well l think l was probably around six, make of that as you will.

How was the ‘thing’ you did for the first time?

It was fun, l knew that l wanted to do it again, and again and again!!

Where will you go or wish you could go on your next trip and why?

Anywhere, l haven’t been away since 2014 which was the first time in nearly 16 years. I am a tad overdue, but it’s difficult with dogs in your life.

When we were young/er what things did your parents tell you that you find yourself repeating or performing now?

Right – Nominations

I am only going to nominate 11 bloggers in total, however l am in essence nominating you for both awards – not lazy – but offering choice. It will be down to each blogger to decide … should they wish as that is the other option, as there is no obligation to respond to either, however as is my way, l am just telling you that l like what you do … which award you choose to respond to …. that choice is yours. As you probably know, there are no set timetables to these nominations … meaning you can write your response post when ever you have the time and or the motivation to do so, there is no pre-set deadline.
