A] Personal Details
1] Your Name?
“My name is Ollie. It may be a common dog name, but I was named after Oliver Queen aka the Green Arrow, so I’m a super hero!”
2] What do you call your 2-leggeds?
“I live with my Mommy and Grandma.”
3] What K9 Breed are you?
“Everything and Anything! My papers from the shelter say I’m a lab mix. People say they see lab, pit bull, pointer, great dane, boxer, etc. Mommy can’t wait to get a DNA test done and finally know. For now, my official breed is rescue mutt!”
4] How Old Are You?
“I am 1 year in people years. My birthday is March 15.”
5] Do you live inside or outside and more importantly – do you run your household?
“I live inside and definitely run the house! I have a toy box in almost every room, 2 different crates for resting, a bed and cooling mat in the den, and my own “room” with a dog carpet and my bandana collection. You could say I’m spoiled!”
6] Where abouts in the world do you live?
“I live on Long Island, NY in a marina/beach town called Mastic Beach. I love living here!”
B] Exercise/Play Time/Adventuring
7] How often do you take your 2 leggeds for a walk?
“I go out at least 3 times a day.”
8] Do you do lots of adventuring when out and about?
“I try to be adventurous! I like sniffing things, and everything goes into my mouth. I like barking hello to dog friends and the animals at our town farm. I love talking to the geese!”
9] Do your 2 leggeds allow you to talk to other K9’s on your walks or do they huff and puff behind you and urge you to hurry along?
“They encourage me to use my voice and say hello to my fellow animals. I didn’t know how to bark when I came from the shelter, so they had to teach me how!”
10] Are you allowed to do ‘stuff’ on your walks freely? Do you walk off or on lead?
“I’m free to go when/where I want when on a walk. Mommy always has poop bags ready! I use my special Green Arrow leash when on walks cause I would run off otherwise.”
11] Have your 2 leggeds ever embarrassed you? If so how?
“If anything, I’m embarrassed of them! They’re always tell me to say hello to this person, or show my social media accounts to people.”
12] Do your 2 leggeds expect you to fetch the ball/toy every time during soft/hard play?
“They try to play fetch with me, but I haven’t learned how to give up the ball yet! It has to be taken out of my mouth every time! I love catching tennis balls in mid-air!”
13] Do you have favourite toys and if so, what are they?
“Tennis Balls! Did you know I have 537 of them?!? That’s not a typo, a local gym actually gave me 537 tennis balls, all for free! I think I’m set for a long time! I also have an extensive Nylabone collection – over 25 and counting!”
14] Are you a very much loved K9?
“Mommy says I’m spoiled beyond belief! And, of course, very much loved!”
15] Do your 2 leggeds take you away on holidays with them?
“I go on day trips with mommy and grandma all the time! We visit great grandmas house, go to the store, the beach, the docks, and lots more. My favourite is when we go to the beach and look for the deer in the parking lot. I love talking to them!”
16] Are you given treats? What are your favourites?
“I love treats! I have drawers full of them (spoiled, remember?). Mommy even makes me homemade popsicles out of wet dog food, bananas, and peanut butter. My all time favourite would have to be a peanut butter filled Kong.”
17] Are you fed a nutritional diet and is your food moist or dry or both or even the raw meat diet?
“Mommy only buys me the best food! After trying a bunch of samples, I picked out the food I liked the best. Turns out it was the most expensive of the bunch, but I’m worth it! I currently eat Lotus Grain Free Turkey Kibble. I love getting chopped up zucchini, as a mix in!”
18] Are you allowed to sample your 2 leggeds food?
“Depends on if it’s a dog friendly food. I love sampling French fries, celery, chicken, etc. I am obsessed with chocolate! Every time mommy eats it I try to take it, but she says I can’t have it! It’s not fair!”
D] Your Personal K9 Stuff
19] Do you have a favourite piece of 2 legged clothing and if so, do they know?
“Grandmas socks and gardening gloves! Yes, she is very aware of my love for them and is not happy with me when I steal them!”
20] Do you deliberately play up at times, just to annoy or worry the 2 leggeds?
“Yes! I hurt my leg recently and I’m using that as an excuse for extra cuddles, extra treats and for stealing mommy’s ottoman. Of course, I get away with it! Have you seen my puppy eyes?”
21] Do you have a bed or a favourite sleeping place?
“I have a dog bed that I lay next to. Sometimes, I’ll use it as a pillow. That’s what your supposed to do with it, right?”
22] Are you always with your 2-leggeds or do you sometimes need ‘Time out?’
“I am always either with mommy or grandma, but I prefer it when we are all in the same room together. By night time, I am ready to be alone in my crate!”
23] Do your 2 leggeds make you ‘dress up?’ If so, when or what for and do you enjoy it?
“Mommy tries, especially during holidays, but I hate clothes! I can tolerate hats and headbands for a picture with lots of treats as a bribe. I do love my bandanas, though! I wear one every day! I have over 50 bandanas and counting in my collection so far!”
24] Are you photogenic or make them run after you to capture you on film?
“I like to think I’m photogenic! Have you seen my face? But, I definitely don’t make it easy for mommy to take pictures. I need bribes in the form of treats or balls to look at her and if I don’t feel like cooperating, I can be very stubborn!”
25] Do you have a friendly vet?
“I love going to the vet! My vet is very nice, and I have been going to them since I was in the shelter. Just don’t ask me to go on the scale or the exam table, those things are scary! My vet is nice enough to sit on the floor to do my exams.”
26] What would be your pawfect day?
“Going for a ride! I love being in the car! We would start by looking for deer at the beach. Then, we would go to PetSmart AND Petco and I would get lots of toys and treats. We would finish by visiting great grandma’s house. Then I would need to go home and take a nap cause I would be exhausted from all the fun!”
Finally, in your own words tell us something about both you and your 2 leggeds that the questions haven’t touched on or asked about – something unique …
“I love watching YouTube! I know what YouTube means when asked if I want to watch and I wait by the TV until it goes on. I have lots of favourite videos. I even learned how to howl by watching other dogs do it on YouTube!”
