Howdy Doody All

It’s Double 80’s Whammy Weekend!!

It’s Sunday Morning!

So far this week, we have had:

The Breakfast Club 1984

Sixteen Candles 1984

Weird Science 1985

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 1986

Pretty In Pink 1986

Some Kind of wonderful – 1987

Planes, Trains and Automobiles – 1987

Uncle Buck – 1989

Who Remembers These???

Christmas Vacation – 1989

European Vacation – 1985

You had to be a real lover of the Vacation films to watch them. I liked Chevy and Beverly as they were always brilliant actors in their own rights anyway. I showed the later one first because out of the two here l think that is the better movie. European was ok, but not my best.

I decided to not roll out any Christmas songs on the 1st July! In truth, the soundtracks that travelled with these two films were not brilliant, it was hard trying to find the right songs to display.

“We’re gonna press on, and we’re gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.”

“Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah.”

  1. The Jam!! Yes!!!!! I actually had that Album with A Town Called Malice on it. I love that song.

The Vacation movies were always referenced during our family vacations with the ex and the daughters. We always had some strange mishaps and odd adventures. Funny memories for sure!

    1. Ha ha, l think every family has had their own mishaps, l remember clearly a trip to Rome with my own and we got lost … ha ha l should write about that l feel 🙂

      1. I was just thinking that I should write about some of ours.
I did write about how we spent Independence Day one year almost carried away by a tornado.
        A “Krazee Vacation” series???

  2. Hey. Loved these movies and I still own some of them. Uncle Buck is my favorite and I imagine hitting golf balls at people when I can’t show I am angry because of that movie! Love these posts. Wendy
