Good Morning Folks – It’s Friday Funday!

This week we are back with the 80’s looking at some truly classic films and some great music!

So far this week, we have had:

The Breakfast Club 1984

Sixteen Candles 1984

Weird Science 1985

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 1986

Who remembers this?

Pretty in Pink – 1986

I was obsessed with romance. When I was in high school, I saw ‘Doctor Zhivago’ every day from the day it opened until the day it left the theater.

John Hughes

Fantastic! Right in the middle of that long stretch between Christmas and Spring Break, your coats are getting dirty, everything’s dark, dingy – what a great time for a movie!

Have a truly awesome Friday folks! More from the 80’s tomorrow – in fact the weekend is going to see Double Whammy 80’s – so make sure you tune in!

  1. [ Smiles ] Oh, I certainly remembered the eighties.

The music, movies, fashion and the culture where totally different.

This period was back in my schooldays.

Thank you for bringing back some pleasant memories.

    1. Good morning Renard, my pleasure.

I remember the 80’s with a certain fondness also, they were my young adult years, the years of discovery – l think as much as we age and move forwards with our lives, that certain eras remain fixed in our heads as to what was defining for us.

It’s a bit like ‘remembering your first ever true love’ and it will always seem to be in or on a cloud 9 of its own.

      Have a great day 🙂

    1. Hey Julie – hope this Friday finds you well and in good spirits 🙂

My pleasure, as l love to say the 80’s rocked!

I don’t care what 90’s lovers’ say my answer is always the same ‘Oh right, yeah the 90’s rocked, but without the 80’s before them, where would the so called fantastic 90’s be now, eh, eh, eh??” LOL 🙂

  2. Who didn’t love Duckie?? His “Try A Little Tenderness” routine, him sitting on the newspaper box in the rain, him waiting for Andie at prom… Ah, my heart!! These movies were so much a part of my High School experience. I graduated in 1986 and, of course, our prom theme song was the OMD song “If You Leave”.
Andie’s dress was a horror though. We all hated it! Iona definitely had the cooler outfits.

As Andie told Iona, I think we’re going to O.D. on nostalgia… LOLOL
