Q.F.T.D 69

Good Morning Folks – Good grief – But It’s Only Saturday Again!

Today it’s 1979!!

Name that film Quote!

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”

Which of these TV Shows did you watch?

Knot’s Landing

The Dukes of Hazzard

Real People

Buck Roger in the 25th Century

Hart to Hart

Now who remembers these?

But more to the point can you remember where you were?

So did you boogie to any of the above in true disco style?

Perhaps you were more of the slow moocher?

But what’s with these blessed pumpkins?

So which films were considered the top?

However, what did you see this year??

Star Trek

The China Syndrome

Kramer vs. Kramer

The Muppet Movie

Escape from Alcatraz

The Amityville Horror

Have a totally awesome Saturday folks!!

  1. Wow! Another fantastic set of songs! The Disco would have been playing at the roller skating rink I went to. I’m also know the Boomtown Rats & of course the Police.
All those movies! My stepfather, who I consider my Dad, is a huge Trekkie so we saw Star Trek at midnight, the day it was released. On a big screen, single theater no less. I think we saw the Muppet movie in the theater too. I’ve since seen all of those, Quadrophenia is a classic!
1979 is the year I went from being a dirt poor child of a single mother to an upper middle class child with a new, loving Dad who doted on me. We moved into a beautiful four bedroom house with a community pool and tennis courts. 1979 was the beginning of the good years for me.
Thanks for this!! I’m gonna watch it all again when I wake up in few hours. Have a fantastic day, catch up to you later.

    1. Morning/Evening Grandma – sleep well.

1979, was the year l started being a proper teenager, l was 16 living back in the UK after living abroad for most of my younger years.

  2. Oh my… i can raise my hand and say i only read the book and saw the movie on tv… The Amityville Horror. i can still feel the red eyes in the basement, watching me. The book scared the bgibies out of me. Is that how you spell “bageebees”? And the movie made it visually concrete, although subdued the fear.

Nothing else Ring’s My Bell… oh wait that song keeps ringing on our tv in 2018!!!! Im telling ya… i was a sheltered kid growing up. I honestly never, well rarely, left the house.

I am making up for the missed time in the next five years. Yeah me! Rah! Rah! Rah! Have a great day to you!!!!! 🌞💜🕊🎶🎶🎶

    1. Hey Jeanne, yeah l have to agree with you regarding the Amityville Horror, it scared the crap out of me, and l did see it on the big screen!!

      Have a great evening 🙂

      1. Very early morning here (4:45 am)… the sun rises early being near the Atlantic coastline. And thanks… have a great day too! 😁 i plan too! Busy fighting off the enemy that wants to make me blue and anxious. My story ends with me being the victor! At least that is my hope and plan… 🌞🌊🎶🎶🎶

  3. I went to see The Amityville Horror at the movie theatre with a bunch of friends and then had to walk home alone. That was the LAST horror movie I watched for about 25 years. Scared the CRAP out of me. I ended up running all the way home -about 2 kilometres – at a dead run, scared of every shadow and every dead leaf scuttling (it was late fall) across my path…

    1. LOL!! Hey Patti – yep, got me the same way, made worse by the girl l had taken to see it, kept on jumping at every moment, made the walk home even more nerve wracking. Then l got fixated on the 3.13am thing lol! Candyman had me freaked out for months, hell if honest – years, l still cannot say that five times in front of the mirror 🙂
