Liebster Award – Nomination 7

Liebster Award Nomination 7 2018

Once again huge thanks you to my friend Josh [Mr Swarthy] of “The Jaguar and its Allies” for his nomination of A Guy Called Bloke and Doodlepip’s Adventures for the Liebster Award 2018, it really means a lot so thank you Josh. You spoil me good sir 🙂

Are you keeping up with Josh’s fascinating series : “Journey to Belize: Of Soreness and Musings“, if you aren’t – trust me when l say you should.

I don’t like creepy admissions, but have to concede to loving the writing of Josh in his blog, as he is passionate about what he does and what he believes in – it is deep within his soul. Ask any writer, artist or crafter what drives them on? They will answer enthusiastically, that they love what they do and more importantly why they believe in what they are doing.

Still not convinced of the beauty of my nominator? Then as Mr Swarthy himself would say “Read my first post”.

This version of the Liebster Award comes with six rules. They are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Share 11 facts about yourself.
  3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger gave you.
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers who deserve the award.
  5. Create 11 original questions for the nominees to answer.
  6. Let them know they’ve been nominated.

11 Facts About Myself

This gets harder and harder with each nomination, as l really have to dig deep and find fresh snippets that l have not already touched on or written about or that l am about to write about in any of my series.

01] I am a fop when it comes to romantic or animal  films and turn my head away if it has got to me emotionally as l cannot stand for anyone to see me cry.

02] I watched Gorillas in the Mist once and once only as it saddened me so much l could never watch it again, it actually affected me more than The Killing Fields and that was bad enough. Gorillas was my first real take on the cruelty of our world.

03] I haven’t worn a watch since l was 29, so for 26 years l have been time piece free.

04] I cannot watch horror movies anymore and l used to love them till around five years ago, when suddenly l woke up one day and found l simply couldn’t watch them anymore as they scared me shitless – go figure! Although l can still watch when l see it the walking Dead as Zombies rock!!

05] I read on average 50+ books a year and if it’s a good year closer to 80.

06] I don’t have an Internet connected phone, mine is an old model that only has basic applications, l believe a mobile phone should just be for mobility and not a walking talking tea maker.

07] I drink way too much coffee, although no where as many a cups a day as l did in 2012 when it was as high as 25 cups per day. Now it is around 8.

08] I prefer animals over people.

09] My office comprises of three active screens, two computer screens and one television screen, as l write and work, l need to have constant stimulation.

10] I am an avid online gamer, but have been gaming since l was around 12 when l first started Table top wargaming. Back then l used to collect Napoleonic figures and at the height had three very distinct armies which totalled about 8,000 pieces including artillery.

Wargaming figures

11] I used to own 6500 DVD’s and was an ardent film collector. I sold off my main collection in 2012 and then sold around 300 films last year, and now only have around 400 DVD’s left. Some l haven’t watched since purchase.

        1. Which is what l am doing Ray – telling the tale of madness through my eyes in this blog ..

You know in true nutty style , oookah, wookah dwonko! 🙂

        2. Well it’s the only legal place l can be a nutter, in the safety of my own home, if l spoke half of this stuff in the streets they would throw away the key on me 🙂

  1. Well now, thank you kindly for the nomination! However, I will respectfully decline as I’m really uncomfortable with awards (the occasional quote challenge I can do); I do hope you understand. But bless you for thinking of me. Have a super weekend!

    1. I thought it was ocka ocka oy oy oy? 🙂 But yes, Australia would be my choice l feel. I miss the way of life out there, out back 🙂

      1. Nah mate. Really should be Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie, oi, oi, oi. I thought I’d try to show a bit of class though!
        I don’t blame you 🙂

  2. Wow, thanks again for the kind words!

25 cups of coffee a day? Whoa! I’m glad you didn’t have a heart attack! Even 8 cups a day is a lot. I’ve ‘done’ 8 cups of coffee in a single day before, and I didn’t like the way it made me feel at all! Very anxious and unimaginably jittery.

    1. Hey Josh, whew consider yourself notified that l have responded to the nominatoion and once again my thanks for yours 🙂

Coffee doesn’t have the jittery effect on me like it may do oon others, it keeps me buzzing, but slows the mind down a bit. I drink less now because my health dictates l must.

      1. Yea, our bodies seem to react differently to coffee. I mean, I love coffee: making and drinking it is one of my greatest pleasures. But it definitely makes me anxious when I have more than ~ 2 cups in one day. Not fun! I’m glad you can tolerate more of it though, because it’s the nectar of the gods! The goat gods, that is.

  3. I would say camel riding is uncomfortable no matter what you do, but the most important thing is staying out of spitting range. I would like it if my phone would make tea for me, but I don’t think I’d want my kettle being receptive to messages from who knows where, because I don’t really want it crawling into bed with me. Congrats on the award and thanks for the nomination 🙂

    1. I will get to your blog and award you the nomination properly Ashley 🙂 I just had to do a lot of tasks after l wrote it, but l will get there later – but in the interim – pleasure 🙂

  4. Thank you for your nomination. It is late afternoon now and I am having a cup of coffee as I type this. Now I need to come up with 11 facts about myself that won’t put people to sleep.

  5. Congratulations friend! You deserve the award and many more. I love the questions you asked your nominees and I will try to answer them. Have a wonderful time.
